Is that free or some sort of premium service?
The IHG app is free. I've had it installed for yonks. It's actually pretty good

How did you install the app?Installed the app for a Big Win a couple of years ago - had to make some bookings through it as one of the tasks.
Not used it since ...
I am just being cautious about the need to be texted a link. What is it going to cost and if it costs anything then it's not free is it?Check here ("text yourself the app link"): Download the IHG App | IHG

Anyway all you need to do on Android, is go to Google Play on your phone/tablet(whatever), access search, put up IHG and search, it comes up as the official app to download.
I did not quite think of that angle. Automatically sign you up to services where you have opt to out but never requested in the first place. That is a joke. This should be banned now.oh I totally understand your reluctance with the text thing, having just become a victim of this insidious airG cough that I am fighting (random text arrives telling me I've been signed up to this "VIP" service a $0.95/day which I did NOT ask for nor want, called the number right back to get off it, after waiting forever on hold with an Indian call centre got assured I wouldn't be charged, but hey presto, at least $0.95 so far on my bill... but I digress)..
You are of course assuming I have used Google Play or even know about it.If you open the IHG webpage above, you should see a Googleplay icon. Click it, it will take you directly to the app and will allow you to install. Below should work also:
oh. I apologise John. You mentioned a Samsung phone and I presumed it was a smartphone (they are all full of apps one way or the other, eg: goole play/"play store" etc is an app). I'm not sure what to suggest.
Reading the T&Cs for the paltry 800 points i'd get for spending US$56 at hotel bars:

(My Emphasis). Does anyone else have this contradiction? I will have little opportunity to buy $56USD of food in non-US IHG hotels...
Did you skip the part where it said "or it's equivalent in local currency"?
