It's best to wait until the 4th or 5th to see what your status is. CaptJCool looks silver to me....

It’s an interesting quandary since the banner doesn’t line up,

but I don’t need to be retaining silver (LTS) given I’m 75% of the way towards LTG

My question of the moment is will I fly enough to see LTS and "earn" SG rather than rely on the "soft landing". Now a bit less than 1K for the former. And I assume 600 for the latter.

Yes, this is a known issue with the banner. 4th / 5th of the month as per @oz_mark 's post, definitely within a week of the new "year", all should be revealed.

I actually look forward to the status reset.

There's nothing worse that retaining your status (WP for me) and after that knowing it's going to waste... well, not completely, but still.

I go to 0 SCs on 01 April but have already booked a massive trip in June to South, Central & North America that will retain WP in one go (over 5 weeks). Not even using DSCs so there you go.

I'll be about 2.5K from LTG after that trip so I guess that's the new focus.

Oh damn I didn't realise the 500 sc bonus got wiped each membership year! All those double status credit bonuses and flights with partner airlines meant I retained gold but didn't hit 500sc for the bonus.

You’ve still saved a lot compared with doing it on standard SC. A bonus 50 SC is nice to have though. If most travel is either on DSC or partner airlines then you may want to aim for WP if you want to get a loyalty bonus. 500 standard SC on QF is a lot to need to get.
