I'm in the VA Lounge thread

And a big shout out from the VA lounge in Launceston

Oh no, there isn't one. I'm sitting in a crowded departure lounge at gate 3 drinking lousy Hudson coffee watching the locals line up to board 15 minutes before the flight is called. Interesting demographics on the LST flights.

I would go on QF but they have hardly any flights and don't fly direct LST - SYD anyway.

I can't win.

What can I say that's positive .... there's a lovely view from the departure lounge over the runway towards the nearby mountains. If John Borghetti was inclined to install a lounge here it would be nice spot to down a few wines over probably the best airport view in the country.

Oh, and I've just worked out VA doesn't do J class into LST, so the Gold and Plat frequent flyers get the J seats but Y service. My ticket today cost $16 so not a bad deal.

Still, this bloody awful departure lounge ....

It must have been modelled on the DRW lounge.

Mmm... lucky our Taswegians aren't too bitey.
This one for I hate the Tulla...
Do we have any Taswegian members?

Born and raisex, but got out as soon as I finished yr12 and earnt enough to pack my car full of belongings and get on the boat!

The scary thing about the LAT "lounge".description is that the lining up 15 mins early would in no way be an exaggeration.

"Better line up, otherwise that airplane might forget us and we'll have to drive back to Ouse. Bloody mainlanders, always in a rush."

Be at BNE VA Lounge at 3ish today for an hour if anyone is travelling to start enjoying this marvellous long weekend - Myself to enjoy good company in SYD at a Gala Ball!

On a side note, did the automatic announcement on the AirTrain just recommend (Amongst other things) to call Crime Stoppers if there is a security incident on the trains..... I must of heard that wrong, but what the heck will they do?? Teleport Police onto the train?
They didn't even give the number, bleh!

EDIT; I did hear wrong :) Good good
Call crime stoppers for non-critical security issues (Whatever they are.... Someone taking drugs?) and they did announce the number to call

I'll be in the VA SYD Lounge tonight around 5:15 til 6:45pm, unless I can beg myself onto an earlier flight... *grumble saver fares* *grumble silver* *grumble grumble*

Might have to try and see each other then, if you don't get an earlier flight. I'm planning to use arrival access to FINALLY see upstairs of SYD Lounge - I've transited through SYD so many times, but usually on weekends.

Are we allowed upstairs? I've never tried. I'll PM my mobile number.

It be the same I assume as BNE's side-lounge; Only open during peak hour/when The Lounge gets packed

Else I have no idea when it would be open... It's certainly not The Club!

Will be in the VA Lounge in Sydney tomorrow morning at stupid o'clock before a 6am departure. Can't imagine anyone else will be there, but if you are, look for the unshaven bleary-eyed bloke binge-drinking coffee.

Will also be in the Melbourne Koru Lounge later on.

I will be in the QFF lounge from about 7-9.20am tomorrow if you want to try for a between-lounge meet up?

Edit: MEL that is.

Jess, you sure you are not on the wrong airline on your upcoming flight?
We are Virgin Australia here, please check your boarding pass...
I have always wondered about that, people who are able to successfully get onto a wrong airline, or wrong flight, or get onto a plane and find out that for some reason, they get to the wrong arrival city!
I will be in VA PER lounge on Sunday, and the VA SYD lounge on Monday.
Tomorrow I am in no lounge at ADL.
Just a poor lonely pooch at VA GATE ## to PER.

That's an idea. Will probably breakfast (and if I haven't already, shower) the moment I get into Melbourne, so will see how it goes. Quick meet-up is doable (security/sydney weather permitting... no idea how either will pan out) - but with the new winter menu I'd hardly expect you to leave the glorious QF lounge and venture outside for anything

Not as crazy as aamslfc here, but still taking the 1st flight back to BNE at 7am on a Saturday, running on 3 hours of broken sleep, is annoying.... Premium Entry softened the blow slightly....

PM sent in case it can work.

It was open yesterday afternoon, as downstairs was packed.

I had a quick look and it has one bar and about 50 seats.

It was no exaggeration. And I deliberately self edited to avoid descriptions of what was been worn and amounts of carry on cause that would have just been gratuitous. But it was a giggle.

VA are very tight in PER T3.
No runway or plane viewable.
Compared to MEL and SYD, not good.
Food ok though.
Lounge hard to find, didn't see it past security.
Went upstairs then down again
Padded jacket no swab today.
9.5 out of 10.
No kids in sight.
No hi vis either. O, is that VA T2?
