I'm in the VA Lounge thread

One of the plates on offer now at the CBR lounge - yum.
Had this at the MEL lounge yesterday!! It was really nice, went well with an Asahi Superdry. Other options were party pies or a chicken wrap - friend got the wrap and said it wasn't half bad.

Tables were cleaned pretty often, got some nice apron views - including a good look at a CX Cargo 747-8F.

I had this in the MEL lounge on Sunday.

It was crazy busy on Sunday evening and I ended up spending more time than expected there because of flight delays. The locusts were hoovering up any and all food on offer and the staff just couldn’t bring the sausage rolls and then dim sims out fast enough. I kept missing the salads because they’d come out in small batches and be consumed almost immediately, but a few hours later I nabbed this salad.

Weirdly there was a small bird nesting in one of the plastic pot plants hanging from the ceiling. Staff were alerted, but no one seemed in a hurry to rescue it.

We were in MEL lounge at lunchtime Sunday as well...the sparrow was in the lounge then too...poor bugger didn't know how to get out, so I'm guessing he stayed for the free feed! 😎
Quinoa salad was also in BNE lounge previous week and is quite tasty. The wraps in MEL were good and went quite quickly...although not as quickly as the soups were!
All in all, the food service is improving - now to get a better cider option than Somersby! 🤮

That's the total opposite of my experience at CBR. Was fairly quiet and lots of food options.

SYD lounge was fairly busy around 1600-1700, but minimal delays due to t'storm in the area. Grabbing a coffee in BNE lounge in arrival and it is packed - plenty of delays ex BNE tonight 😑
In terms of food, SYD had 2 soups, cheese stack, bolognaise or vegetarian mini calzones, and then salad bowls. Plenty of stock :)

Contrasting lounge experiences today… MEL an absolute zoo this morning. Line out of the door for entry, no time to get a coffee as there was a huge line, etc.

Used CBR lounge on arrival for half an hour as I was early for my meeting (virtually empty) and now am back at the CBR lounge for my return flight and there’s only a handful of people here. Meat pies are today’s hot food choice…

Technically not yet in the lounge at BNE, but it's a bit of a madhouse down the VA end...Premium Entry queued out the door and around the corner, 50-deep? Standard security screening is back into the baggage hall as well. 😑😑

Edit: to 15 minutes to clear security direct to Lounge and it's fairly busy up here.

Baked beans, potato rosti and chicken sausage on the menu this morning.

It’s relatively quiet in the Sydney lounge this morning. No coffee queue! I might have a second coffee because I have plenty of time. The general security queue had no line this morning so I just breezed on in. Breakfast is typical - bacon, pancakes, baked beans etc. - as well as banana and “peacan” (sic) muffins, and the usual fruit and yoghurt. I might save myself for the flight.

I got here 30 minutes ago. Might have taken 5 minutes to get from the front door until sitting down at the window. I’m thinking it will go down hill from now

Anyone else caught up in the weather disruptions today? I'm giving VA a chance this week (perhaps just an unlucky day) and weather seems to have killed their entire network. Lounge in SYD was a zoo but calmed a little.

Yes. Should be in the SYD lounge right now, but standing in customer service line with flight rescheduled to 6:30am tomorrow.
