I'm in the VA Lounge thread

SYD lounge for 30 minutes or so. Cab guest 1.

Lots of people in lounge. Not much movement.

Hi, is anyone in the Brisbane VA domestic lounge around 1230 today who could kindly guest my daughter and son in law in. Thank you.

Was in the MEL lounge yesterday. First time in a while visiting the renovated lounge. Good spread similar to others with the corn chips + quinoa salad being the favourite. Tried curry lentil soup (nice and exciting), brie (meh), chicken wrap (decent), cheesecake (tastes like sara lee, but gone quick). Wish they would upgrade the cider from somersby but four pines for beer aint bad.

Happy to Guest. Currently in Sydney VA lounge. Mr Denali is Plat and Im SG so looks like we can guest 4 adults and 6 kids - we will be popular in the lounge if we do that 🤣

The worse thing I've ever attempted to eat in a lounge, Sydney domestic and its this chicken thing. So dry that after 2 chews it's like trying to chew and swallow sawdust. Only thing that helps is tomato sauce. It's so bad that I asked if it was plant based pretending to be meat.

I've had some bad airline food in my time but this is the worst.

Hubby said if you put it in a pool, it would float and people would think its a turd.

Think I've had those in Perth. Not my favourite bit they were certainly edible. Perhaps not cooked correctly...

Quick question if I may (instead of starting new thread);

Is it ok to access the lounge say 7 hrs before your scheduled domestic departure? I read at one point they were enforcing a 2hr rule to reduce lounge crowding, but this could be fake news.

Thank you very much all

I was under the impression that the 2 hour rule only applied to nonstatus pax, I.e. paying for a visit or on a complimentary voucher.

In the VA BNE lounge till around 8:45, can guest 2.
Breakfast today is poached eggs and chipolatas, or the usual pancakes.
Quite busy in here and in the terminal, but security queue quite short, which was refreshing :)

EDIT: Premium Entry is open....considering it's a Monday that fits with the "weekdays 5am-10am" that I spotted in a recent VA email, but was surprised considering that it's a public holiday. 🤷‍♂️

Premium security screening in ADL fast and efficient.
Got picked for the wand.
In the VA ADL lounge ATM.
No complains.
Very modern shower rooms, guess still have to ask staff for towels or BYO, I didn't ask.
As my one flight got cancelled and they put me into an indirect flight to SYD, so no long time in here.

In VA SYD till 1730/1745ish, depending on how late VA973 gets delayed. Can guest 3.
Pork dumplings and soup on the menu, along with cheese platter - yummy!
