I'm in the VA Lounge thread

ADL VA lounge was quiet but flight was absolutely chocka’s. Made the decision yesterday morning to come over and got the last J seat
What did the last J seat cost, only interested cos I remember discussion on Max prices etc.

Great they opened the MEL premium exit, bloody needed to this week.

$599 but as it was pretty much last minute decision I jumped on it. Going back tomorrow I was still able to get tomorrows flight home for $399 but am now seeing the same flight for $599.
Wasn’t a spare seat even in Y last night so much so that we were delayed for another 5 minutes (was already nearly an hour late) whilst they moved a bloke in Y that was seated next to two unaccompanied minor girls

Any lounge food updates? I've heard breakfast has been pretty ordinary (at least friends visiting SYD recently)

ADL has had the superb Thai beef salad and some decent wraps and sandwiches along with soup, pies and sausage rolls but haven’t been there during breakfast hours for a couple of weeks so don’t know what they have.
MEL today had a small assortment of wraps and sandwiches but didn’t look like much else there this arvo. Was a bit disappointed with the offerings in MEL TBH

Wow that's interesting.

Will be in BNE VA lounge Wednesday, see how busy it is & check in / security area.
Long weekend over so Shirley less busy.

Think it still is. I overheard staff chatting to the CSM who replied that it was unacceptable and needed to be fixed before they were allowed to depart. He then mentioned a swap of passengers but I couldn’t see what was going on behind us but evidently it was sorted quickly

SYD options around 4pm last Saturday

Lounge Food.jpeg
The falafel were quite dry, but hummus and tabbouli quite nice.

MEL had the same sandwiches, a roast cauliflower/lentil salad and pumpkin soup. Karaage chicken brought out at approx 1800 but it was rather on the salty side. Didn't manage to catch any photos in Melbourne... it was quite chaotic.

Great photo. Certainly sells the product!

Back in the SYD lounge this morning, it's been a while. I really miss the newspapers and mags. Ham & egg croissant was pretty good. Wow - SYD T2 is out of control this morning. The queues for everything were crazy. Announcements are saying "this is the busiest day of the year so far". Interesting, I wonder why? I'm off to MEL for the F1. VA Premium Entry was not open at 5:15 am, unsure if it opened up later, considered hanging around but just ended up queuing anyway.

Ugh. When you don’t have kids at home you forget. But I’ll be remembering soon enough …GF is about to qualify as a teacher. Double-ugh: I’ll probably have to travel like this all the time now

Are any of the premium entries/exits open?

VA says no (both social media team and website) but there are some reports of MEL being open.
