We could be interested in this. Booking through Cruisepilot | Virgin Australia will get you Velocity points
I have used then previously and they were good until our specific travel consultant left. The cruise we get on tomorrow is the last through them as they have been very disorganised for this one though maybe, as I said, because no individual has specific ownership of it.

For those new to the game. MOSTLY everyone offers the same or very similar prices but often different outlets will have different add-ons such as on board credits.

Another question;

How much is usually paid in advance.

Cruisepilot shows that on about the 3rd screen, also Cruisepilot has a number of different room categories.
  • Approximate Total Price: $1,418.00
  • Pay this amount today: $530.00
  • This amount due 12 Nov, 2017: $888.00

Does this look about right.

Seems a bit much Bundy. If you book direct with Princess then it will be something like $150 and is refundable until a few months before. I think TA's have additional requirements that Princess don't. Including a much earlier final payment date.

That seems a very large deposit Bundy. I think QF was $50 pp deposit but it had final payment in July; Cruise Guru which I have used before had the same payment date. Booking direct on the Princess site, I paid a deposit of $186 for 2 people and the balance is due on 26 November. Pricing is about even across most TAs I think and as I am pretty sure this will be a popular sailing (being short and in school holidays) I am not expecting big price drops or suddenly OBC etc. Just think that is not going to happen for this itinerary.

I'll pop myself down as interested for now. Hopefully can lock it in later this year once I get 2017 trips out of the way!

If you are interested I would keep an eye on Princess to see how bookings are going. Probably will just about sell out I think but the question will be when - maybe by Sept/October? There may be cabins come up if people have booked and then cancel (especially if booked through Princess site where to lose the deposit is not a big deal).

Colour me Platinum for this! Just booked an Obstructed Oceanview as it was the same price as the interior cabin. My deposit was $119 direct with Princess but I might take the booking over through a wholesaler if they allow me to.

Use seascanner.com and plug in correct dates to give you an idea of availability in each category.

E.g. BD category (balcony)

This thread now has a wiki, so I will try to keep it up to date. Or anyone else for that matter!

While this is very, very far in advance even by my standards and untold numbers of things could change between now and then, mark me down as interested. The chances of my attendance are greater than zero, though far short of 100% at the present time :).

Thanks for the advice. I've only been on two cruises and both I didn't book so I'm quite a novice. I'll make a firm decision after the annual DO in DRW in July and see if there is space still available :)
