If you're able to PM the flight details, I'd be happy to pass on your appreciation. :)

Haha, if I can remember, it was QF1, can't remember if SYD-SIN or SIN-LHR sector on the 27th March. Just look for Geldof on the manifest ;)

My problem is, the FA's in F are always so good, I would get RSI sending in the compliments ;)

Perhaps you could send them to J and Y on occasion to show them how it's done ;)

Touché! Thanks for the flight information. I'll pass it on, along with your suggestion. :)

Actually I have found the male FAs consistently good and the female FAs were variable.

I always call the CSM if the experience has been unwaveringly good.

I've travelled with Jnr Paddys in F quite a few years ago on QF and UA  and invariably found the service outstanding.

The then little Miss Paddy (aged 3) was allowed to 'help' with the snack service, was fed mainly ice cream and generally had a ball.
Mrs Paddy, travelling solo with Infant Jnr Paddy in QF F, was given some time to eat her meal while a Flight Attendant took Infant Jnr Paddy for a walk

They were genuinely caring and, I think, it broke up their routine a bit.

I've seen others receive much the same service in the years since, and often found other passengers helpful and smiling when coming into contact with them, especially if the mothers were flying sans partners.

On the other hand, there's kids who 'play up', aren't well, thrown by the confined space that a plane is, etc, etc... parents generally handle this as well as can be, and there's always noise cancelling headphones.

I've no time for people who think "Business Class" is for "Business People" and the infants can bugger off and so lovestotravel and Aussie_flyer I disagree with your views.

Business Class is a brand name and the main entry requirements are whether you've got the $$$ and / or points to buy the ticket - it's not for "Business" people as such.

I'm all for QF making the last 2 rows of J a "quietish zone", and charging those who value that, say, an extra $1K for seats in those rows, knowing they won't have infants in those rows. :p

I'm also all for QF making the 3rd last row of J and the first row of PE an "infants zone" on those flights, with a discount to liven up things somewhat :mrgreen:

I don't get the males often, but I'm not complaining, the ladies are delightful and my experience has ranged from 'motherly protective' to 'flirty and fun' and everything in between. I do try to be as charming as possible though.

There is one Italian guy - Stefano I think who is excellent - I always remember him but he doesn't remember me (I didn't expect him to with so many pax), and he laughs at my rubbish italian skills.

I too make sure the CSM knows if I have received exceptional service.

You had time enough to reply :)

Business class is generally for business people or retired people

Thanks for the replies all. Interesting opinions but seems generally to be no problem. If there's too much noise simply put on the noise cancelling headphones.

Follow up questions is are there any costs to add an infant to the booking at a later stage? If it is unborn at the time of booking for instance.

A belated thank you to Miss Paddy. Looking forward to having Jnr Paddy "helping" in the galley next time. :)

It depends on how you got your ticket. If a QF award or QF ticket then no cost. If however you have booked an award using a different program - such as American Airlines then an infant gets charged 10% of the full fare for the cabin.

And I've got no time for annoying babies and kids when I'm trying to relax :) I'm not retired or a business person either, just a selfish snob.

I've got my tickets by paying straight $$$, or indirectly by spending $$$ to earn points... and the infant charges are irrelevant imho

At $1200 for a lap baby the charges weren't irrelevant to me...

How do you know that? My last UK trip I was in Emerald city - I was travelling on business. The chap next to me was travelling to the UK to see family. Behind us was a family of four including two kids in the 8 - 12 bracket (roughly). So out of 18 seats there were definitely five people not travelling for business and not retired.
