Instant Hilton Honors Gold Promotion

Great Post Inne17.

Worked for me.

Now shows up as Hilton Gold.

In the Membership benefits they talk about Gold Elite, is that something different or not?

Gold Elite just means Gold. I'm about to drop back to Gold after 31st March, based on stays in 2011, so I'm looking for a Diamond promotion (unless the Virgin promo is still around at that time).

Thanks for this one too.

Also, if anyone is planning to use their new rewards scheme for the cash+points or anyroom type awards, you can sign up for 30% points back.

I can confirm this works. I just activated my account.

And to the OP thank you. I just passed this on to my work colleague who is staying with me in a Hilton property for two weeks next month. He'll be pleased to have the free internet and breakfast (I'm already Diamond, and I check in a day earlier, so I still trump him for upgrades ;))

Thanks for all the links to points.

Just checked out of the Hilton Niseko after an 8 night stay as Gold and earnt ~165 000 points. That's almost enough for another 8 nights, plus we got a free resort night on top!

The numbers seem pretty decent...

Thanks for all the information , signed up & locked in . Much appreciated.

Thanks ! Hhonors Gold! :D

Not sure if I will get to use it though. Maybe a night here in Perth to give it a test run if I find a really good rate.

When is the status valid until?

Just tried this and now showing as gold... means I can use my Velocity match for PC and then can fallback on my AMEX HHonors match for when I really do need it:!: :p

I just signed up for that, very easy thanks.

It does not appear to give cheaper prices, and the main benefits seem to be free wifi (which should be free anyway) and some croissants.

What am I missing herre?

The main benefits of HH Gold to me are upgraded rooms, which I've never been denied yet, and free breakfast.

Fair enough. I see it may include access to an executive lounge. What happens there.

Heh, not much. Its just an "Elite" lounge ...(if you like). breakfast in the morning during the week is pretty sparse, but very often the Gold/Diamond can ask for main restaurant breaky and will be accomodated. Evening canapes and drinkies can be fun, particularly if travelling with 1 or more golds.

There are newspapers and magazines and whatnot usually and depending on the lounge and the guests can be a bit quieter than the general lobby/front desk if you want to while away an hour or so reading something with coffee or other beverages at hand. I usually find them a bit sterile, but useful at times.

I hate asking this ? but do you have to have the visa infinite card or by putting in code as advised, gold is instantly obtained and further stays don't have to be used by a v.i. card? I understand that if you do have the card, after 4 stays you would receive 40k points.
Thanks

It's very unlikely anyone posting here has a visa infinite, as they are not issued in Australia as far as I am aware. But people are reporting that they get gold for a year with this promotion.

Look at the opening post and it explains everything. I've just done it, but not showing Gold yet so I'm wondering how instant it really is. Having said that, they were doing system work earlier so maybe it's just being a bit slow.

I did this for the wife and it didn't instantly show gold, so went back to the original link and signed up to the promo as an existing member. This time it changed the profile to gold.

I did this for my wife and as a new member it went to instant Gold for her. I signed up in the first week of Jan.

Instant gold for me but had to logout and then logon again.

Sent from my HTC Desire using AustFreqFly

Received card by post today. Looks pleasant to the eye.
