I already registered and now a Diamond. Worked with my friends too.

Am I missing something or is there a catch? Aren’t they effectively giving away lot of free breakfasts ( one of the diamond perks) for the rest of the year to people who won’t or have no intention to stay the required number of stays to extend status into 2023? I wonder if they are flooded with applications they will shut done offer ?

Sounds like a twist on the SM promo. I signed up for that to potentially upgrade from Plat to Diamond by staying 10 nights.

With this, you still need to do the 10 nights to keep it but if you were just going to stay once or twice between now and New Year. Probably a no brainer for the breaky and upgrades.

That is certainly going to ruin stays at IHG for the rest of the year in Australia now its hit OzBargain, but alas that is the nature of the Internet!

No catch, it's most likely an offer intended for a specific corporate/group that has ultimately made its way into the public domain.

Ditto! I assumed it was only for new signups. I hope this doesn’t go pear shaped…
Hope not. Jumped on this while focused on something else and now feeling a little nervous. Already did the 5 nights to lock in platinum elite to Dec 23 and have another 10 nights booked for getting Diamond. Now showing Diamond but only until Dec 22 - next 10 night booking already includes breakfast so not gaining anything for getting Diamond through this. Just hope if they pull promo I revert back to my PE and get Diamond until Dec 23 after these next 10 nights as per original promo 😳

Yep. I had PE to Dec 2023 also…

Thanks, I enrolled for the offer. Have heard that IHG terminates accounts that breach their t&c's so used it on my alias account just in case it indeed was a targeted offer.

It says right next to the registration page: 'Many offers are only available to IHG One Rewards Club members who receive a specific, targeted communication from IHG. Successful registration does not guarantee that you will receive the points or miles offered when the offer requirements are met if you are not eligible per the offer terms and conditions.'

I'd rate the chances of this being honoured now that it's out in the wild at about 5%.
