So heres my question, like an airline can cancel a booking which has pricing errors, can they do the same if this is an error?

Yes I am pretty sure they can (though I do not know what this is).

However they tend not to worry as long as the damage to them is not large as in too many people taking advantage of the glitch/error etc, combined with the size of the effective discount.

Airlines (and indeed various online stores) seem to have been more actively reneging on such occurrences in more recent times.

EDIT: Now that I think I know what it is I doubt VA would reneg. I think that they will just restore the proper pricing eventually and that if are already booked you should be fine.

Just found it, reasonably decent, now to see if I can find enough reward space to squeeze a quick Perth weekend in. There's an exhibition at the gallery that Lady Lenny would love to see

Edit: Nothing really workable for our situation in the end, but still an interesting situation nonetheless

Well if what I am seeing is what people are meaning, then it is a nice bonus for someone that wants to go there anyway, but not enough to make me book it just for the sake of it as a dirt cheap trip.

But then again maybe I have not spotted it.

Ok so I've looked all over the place. Either this has ended or I'm simply overlooking it. I suspect this could be of good use as from the clues given in this thread I live in applicable city. Can someone help me out with a PM.

Edit: Looks like I might have been overlooking the obvious. Shame I booked reward flights on the weekend.

Oh good grief. Is it that constructive to post "I know something that you don't know, not gunna tell you nya, nya, nya"?

If you think the airline is going to see this thread and can the deal if you disclose it, do you not think they could work it out from the first few posts anyway?

I appreciate the issue of airlines canning good deal if they get widely publicised, so if you don't want to share it, don't. "I know something that you don't know" is pointless in that regard - as witnessed by the post immediately above this!!

I did think the promo tag on the flights was indicative of a sale, happy to see that is the case. In any case, we have flights to ADL for AFF12 locked in.

Good evening! Nice job spotting our Reward Seat offer. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy.

Cheers,
Velocity Frequent Flyer

Thanks VFF for the conformation that this is a real promotion...

It is nice to know my seven A330 J flights I booked yesterday morning are nice and legal. I might go for a few more now...

For those who do not know, currently most reward Y and J seats are ~30% off their normal points requirement. It is very rare to get a J sale...

PER-East Coast is currently 24800 points in J vs 35500 points normally (plus taxes).

Domestic, trans tasman and even LAX are all included.

Wonder if QFF will match?

I suggest anyone wanting to partake in the offer would want to get in before the email to the masses is released...

Edit: Partner redemptions are not included...

Edit: Cheap awards start on 14 March 2018 through to January 2019...

Tossing up whether to book a one way or not. On one hand, don't wan to use my points on J on such a short flight. On the other hand, where else would I use them to...doubt I would ever stump for an upgradeable fare across the Pacific and even then, good luck!

Still can't see it! I'm getting quoted normal point 35,500.

Depends on the days and times, some are showing as 35500 some 24800...be buggered if I can see any LAX flights though, not that it's a surprise about them.

There is some scattered Premium Y available. I would not normally consider PY but at the right price anything is possible...

Not quite right. Need to consider the usual promotional booking in advance blackout me thinks.
I said that this morning before I was aware of the promotional period, but I was correct in that it wasnt occuring in a specific month given I noted it for flights from April to October that I looked at.

Saw the reduced rewards seat points offer yesterday whilst browsing for an upcoming trip to MEL in April and managed to make use of it straight away. Not a bad offer with ~30% off points required and available on a number of evening flights on the Friday I want to travel.

Using points will not earn you any SC, using part payment at the payment (final) stage of the VFF booking will earn SC.
So what ever has been discovered by you lot, unless its a glitch, will be nabbed by VFF soon, you will all probably get a "your booking has been cancelled" or something, if you have made use of a glitch in the booking of awards section of VFF.
I am an honest to goodness pooch and don't get involved in "improper behavior" that might come back to bite me.
