Those figures are wrong. There's no way I've burned through 1.5m as claimed (I think).

I got 4%. The total burned surprises me as I dont tend to cash in for VA awards...maybe they count transfers to KF/SQ.

Well mine was
Since we first got together
you've redeemed
220,000
That puts you in our top
11%
of members turning their
Points into rewards.

Which was two Js to Nairobi from MEL.

So I have only redeemed once, but am in the top 11%.o_O From that I deduce that not that many people are redeeming significant points via VA. No wonder they are having a promo to burn points. My last and only booking took advantage of a 20% in and the 20% redeem bonus.

That plus at that time to Nairobi was not a bad price.

It's all well and good for VA to want to run down the points out there but they could raise the availability on Economy Reward seats a bit couldn't they? Just checked SYD-AKL in Jan 2019 and there isn't a single seat available? Checked early December there's some but none close to Xmas (which isn't too much of a shock). I'm just surprised the instant loss off all seats 11 months into the future.

You could call up to see if there are any seats available on Air New Zealand? Should be the same price for trans-tasman.

They're only up to release date 11 Jan, and its smack bang in the middle of school hols.....?

Apparently I've redeemed 204,000 points in just over 4 years (member since late 2013) and I'm in the top 12%??

That's a couple of return SYD-MEL trips and a few domestic upgrades + 1 trans tasman. Interesting and slightly more than I thought I had redeemed

No email. I do have an email from VA asking for my opinion. Hmmm.

Damn - I really do need a new toaster (I've been toaster-less for a few months!) - if only I'd bought one this month with points!
Velocity Frequent Flyer refunds Points spent on unromantic Valentine’s Day gifts

Virgin Australia said:
In the lead up to Valentine’s Day1, 2 toasters, 16 vacuum cleaners, 2 irons, 2 kettles and a blender were bought from the Velocity Rewards Store. Velocity is taking a stand against these unromantic gifts, and giving all members who redeemed their Points for these items between 6-12 February 2018 a full refund, and the opportunity to have another go at a gift for their loved one and use those Points for a holiday.

Transfers to KFF must definitely be included in these totals. I've redeemed my share of VA, but no way it's 1.4m

There are some good J class deals to Hong Kong x OOL and to China x SYD MEL
.....Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer members can now use their Velocity points to book Hainan Airlines and Hong Kong Airlines reward flights via the Velocity website.

If only the 30% discount applied to its new partners too - just booked SYDXIY in J for 156k points...

Hi, I may be a complete idiot but I can NEVER get the vigin points rates quoted on the AFF website...looking right now at points only flights SYD-LAX on multiple dates and am getting rates ONE WAY of 384 500 premium and 892 900 business! Where are these 100 000 seats??? If I time it right, I can fly oneworld first MEL-LHR-MEL for around 600 000. I've largely opted out of VFF because the points are essentially worthless, so have a stockpile of several hundred thousand sitting there which won't get me out of the country.

These are "any seat" awards rather than the cheaper standard rewards which sell out pretty quickly.

where do those seats live? I have literally never seen one...and have spent another hour or so this AM searching multiple dates / destinations. VA don't seem to have a date range function like the one on the QF site...

Take a look at flights for this week. Usually there are some options on offer. These may not be the dates you want, but they will show you how the results will look if the reward is on offer
