Why is 2K good? (besides the fact that it is in F)
Do you mean good as in better than other F seats, or good that it is in F?

I prefer K because it is more private than the A or F seats. the F seats look into the A seats and the K seats look into the F seats. Nobody looks into the K seats. (I have now had 1A, 3A, 5A, 3F, 2K, 3K (three times) and 4K.)

edit: I should say that others may know better I only do this 5 or 6 times a year.

I have also registered a seat alert with Expert Flyer to let me know when my currently selected seat in Y becomes available. Not sure if this is correct, but my logic is that if my upgrade is successful, the first thing that will happen is that this Y seat allocation will go.

MrsH got an upgrade from J to F 47 hours out. Before she could see this on the QF site or received a text I saw it in the My flights app on my iPad and then in expertflyer her selected seat was empty. She received notification via text about an hour after the My Flights notification!.

I find there's a fairly long lag time with the seat alerts, certainly enough time for the seat to be selected by someone else.

I logged in to my QFF bookings, but when I select that flight I get an error message "Sorry. The site is currently experiencing difficulties. Please try again later."

However I can look at other bookings so I suspect that they may be working on allocating seats on QF7?? My points balance hasn't been deducted by the upgrade yet. Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed! Good flight to take an upgrade on in my opinion, 15hrs is a long time in whY :shock:

IMHO, middle seat Skybed is preferable to any economy seat with QF.

PE can be a different matter.

Not sure if there is an opportunity to decline but I wouldn't want to. I have only requested upgrade to J, and don't see that a middle seat in J would be that bad compared to Y for 15 hrs!

Still can't login via my bookings but called and yes the upgrade is confirmed. Great! Assigned 11A which seems a decent seat.

Will be interesting to see if / when I get a txt notification.

I can not imagine a single circumstance where whY is preferable to J.

Gimme 43K on the refurbed 747 and no one next to me and I'm happy.
I slept 10 hours on the way back from DFW last month.
Sure J would have been nicer, but I don't think it would have been worth the points in that situation.
