Just be aware that if you do buy items on ebay that you won't earn points if you use an auction sniper or proxy bidder. I use www.bidnapper.com so would therefore be ineligible for any earn on Qantas Points. The same rules apply if you were to buy ebay items via cash back sites such as www.mrrebates.com or www.ebates.com ie no cash back received.

What you are posting reads like it is English but I have no idea what you are talking about.

It's like you need a doctorate on the cr@p out there.

Confession: Haven't read this entire thread

Just trying to go through to ebay from the link.
Made a purchase (buy it now), through to paypal and then paypal would not let me change the purchasing method from bank account to credit card. I voided the transaction.

I duplicated the transaction outside of QF mall ... and then it let me change to CC.
So I proceeded with the transaction.

My 1st purchase via there new site was a fail for me.

That is rather odd. In the last week I have made 3 or 4 eBay via Qantas purchases and on each occasion changed the payment method to my PayPal registered Amex.

Mrs Ansett Tried yesterday to order stuff through Ebay using the Qantas Points website and sadly no go.

Have made my first purchases through the Qantas Online Mall, in particular with The Iconic. Basically straight after the purchase confirmation and email from QF landed in my inbox to let me know that my points are on their way. Whilst they haven't posted yet, the process was painless and will reap around 500 pts for a purchase I was going to make anyway.

Whilst I imagine that many of us on here will continue to earn and burn through flying, I think it is a good little money spinner for QF and I'm happy to direct my future online purchases through the mall (within reason of course!) to grab the odd point here or there.

Are they accepting Amex card registrations again??
I was rather p****d off when they cancelled them several years back, as I use my AMEX for business purchases. I'll need to check on that . . . . .

I bought something off ebay and completely forgot to link from QFmall. Argh. Though these items were already in my cart. It just took me a month or so to decide that I wanted them. I am not sure I could have found the items again if I started from the beginning but I would have been happy to find out if I qualified for points by trying rather than forgetting. I guess my habits haven't changed just yet.

I have had my Amex listed eith eBay for quite some time.
What I hate the most is when I forget to change the method of payment which defaults to my savings acount.

That wasn't my experience and now I'm thinking that I wont be getting points :(

Logged into QantasPoints.com, headed over to the online mall (making sure my browser accepted all cookies) launched eBay from the mall, and bought a few watched items. Paid for them, got the receipts, but nothing has turned up from Qantas!

If this is what I should expect from the service, I'm dissatisfied.

I seem to recall something about ensuring that the eBay items are makes as posted. So maybe the email only gets sent once the purchased items are flagged as posted.

Hopefully the points follow after that.

Email just arrived, not too late really. Just the one, but made 3 purchases in a row. Says I need to wait 30 days, so shall wait and see what turns up. On the topic of QantasPoints.com being the location for the Toolbar now, already clocked up my 150 valid searches this month too :)

Been playing the Qantas Points Quest. It keeps asking me to find an "Orange Boarding Pass".

Are Qantas trying to tell me something?

They are perhaps keen to stick to this "30 days" thing:

Tried to use it for the Apple Store; couldnt even get through to the store so gave up and did it via a cash back website instead.

Is that not 31 Days? :)

Ok, so far, so good. Email received same day as purchase

Should net me a total of 8 points per $ as purchase was via DJ's Plat Amex :)
This could prove quite lucrative I think ;)
