IPad opinions?

I hope so. I wish I had known about Bondi as I could have popped in there at the weekend (hmm wonder if the Sydney store got any in...)

I am more stunned that the cases are taking 3-4 weeks to ship...

So the burning question is - when will windows be installed on the iPad to make it more than just a toy?

Plenty of cases there too - might be worth checking out. :)

No flames - you have seen my response on Facebook already... and there is an iPad running windows already I believe.

Fwiw, Apple Stores got more stock in over the weekend - saw heaps at both Chadstone and Bondi. So I'd hope sooner than the 29th for you. :)

I just called Bondi and I think any deliveries were allocated to the Priority List customers (i.e. people who went into the store and registered). I was just advised that the best option is to go priority list rather than ordering online...

Depends. Did it not work well as it normal doesn't do on a PC? Or did t work less well than normal on the ipad?
:lol

This should be an amusing toy for those with an iPAD

So at the weekend I ordered an iPad - which is scheduled to be shipped on June 29. Yesterday I was in a board meeting where one of the members from Sydney was demonstrating his iPad. He went into the Apple store on Saturday, put his name on the list and got the email on Sunday that his iPad was available. Looks like a trip to the apple store today for me...

I did suggest you do that earlier in the thread ;)

Yep - you were totally correct. Sadly I wasn't able to guarantee to be in Sydney when it was available so I couldn't do that. I had hoped that the online order ship date might move forward - obviously not...

It's a bit sad that Apple does that. You are showing loyalty by putting money down and ordering online, vs reserving, which I believe is paid on delivery.

Then again, you already know my opinions on Apple, so I'm not too surprised.

Joined the Priority List on Friday morning - I shall see if I get the email on Monday...

FINALLY!!!!!

iPad delivered to the office this morning, straight to the 3 store to get a micro sim (existing user on a month to month "contract" I get 2G data for $15 - good price point).

Then to the apple store to activate it and get a case. Grabbed a few apps (iWork suite, Flight Control HD) whilst in store using wifi.

Just waiting for the micro sim to get activated...

Seems lighter than the one I held in the US (but we do know all americans are overweight...).

Facebook iphone app is unusable though in scaled up mode (will see how other iphone apps fare).

Charging seems seems slow (been on charge for 90 mins and only up from the out of the box 80% to 96% - but I guess when the battery bucket is that big it takes a while to fill up ;)

I am looking for a good organised note taking app so that it can replace my physical paper notebook and have a few examples to try. I am looking for an app that can organise notes by project/person/concept rather than the linear nature of a paper based notebook. No desktop integration required (other than data backups) as I can't sync my iPad with my work computer...

So far - ok to good. Screen is very smudged already.

looking forward to getting some of those productivity apps working!!!!

Congrats simongr!

Hope you enjoy it after all the lead up - there are quite a few good productivity apps floating around; Pages and Evernote are good starts, but there are a few others that are quite good (forget off the top of my head).
