iPhone, Android or Windows Mobile??

While I am asking silly questions does anyone know how to unlock a Nokia N97 mini by Sunday (in 2 days time) and not having to pay $59? I tried unlocking it online but the IMEI is not recognised by the Vodafone system and can take up to 10 days for them to get in touch with me.

Anyone had a phone unlocked in Thailand? Was thinking of taking along to Tukcom to get it unlocked if not too expensive.

Not sure an alarm bug for 2 days of the year (a Saturday and Sunday) is worse or better than a virus taking over a lot of Android devices :p

Completely different issues. What confidence do you have that it will not occur on future dates?

As much confidence as I have that my single locked down app store will protect me from viruses :p

I guess there could always be a bug here or there, but I think they’ll now take a closer look at the specific app/issue and fix it so it can’t happen again in a future software update.

Virus or not I love my new HTC Legend. Packed to the gills with preloaded apps and an excellent user interface.

This is similar to the alarm issue due to daylight savings. I think this reflects that Apple have not been a corporate led business thus havent dealt with simple things like the criticality of the calendar and alarms. Like their investment in bluetooth and locations services engineers - this will come over time.

Frankly I would not equate a virus issue with an alarm issue on any scale. On one hand I might miss a meeting - on another someone might steal my corporate and personal information.

But then my experience with appointments and dates in corporate provided outlook makes me doubt that Microsoft are much better. I clearly remember 1 or 2 years ago when all my appointments moved by 1 hour on the daylight savings change over. Just crazy! so we've moved the clocks by 1 hour why in hell would I want to move my 4:30pm meeting to 5:30pm.

I've also had a similar thing in the outlook calendar of a PDA, change the timezone to europe and suddenly my meeting at midday moves to 4 am. Sure I realise changing timezone is a difficult issue because I might have had a teleconference in a different timezone and would have had to call at 4am, but still.....

My alarm on an iPhone 3GS did not work on 1 Jan, and still doesn't, so presume (hope) its not just iPhone 4 affected.

iOS 4 refers to the 4th version of the software, that can be run on three different versions of iPhone currently, just not the original iPhone. So your iPhone 3GS was most likely running iOS 4.

Good to hear...even better to hear my alarm go off (at a sensible hour) tomorrow. :)

Alarm still not working... It's hit the press in a major way now! Apple said it should work this morning but def didn't...

The MacWorld article, and a few others, said the bug lasts through the 3rd, so I set a recurring alarm for this morning and had no issues with it.

Didn't read them. Stupidly relied on Sky News - worst in Aus!

Thanks Sam, hope it works 2moro.

I have a iPhone 3GS and am running iOS4 and my alarm is working today. I did not try it for the last two days.
