Disturbing news that Trump at the last minute reversed his order to attack Iran...

Someone needs to calm this guy down pronto. Have they learned nothing? We all know how this story ends.

How does a short article that just says "they are rerouting flights" answer the question "where are they rerouting said flights to"?

Hi Himeno,

It’s the flights to London that are being affected. They are adjusting the route to avoid the affected airspace around the gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz.

As the article says:

“The restriction will mean a slight change to the route for flights between Australia and London, the airline said in a statement. “

Bear in mind that this has al developed in the last 24 hours, since the FAA directive.

That's similar to what QF9 did yesterday. I thought a prior directive meant they had to avoid Iraq as well.

Last night BA, AF, LX, TK and QF followed similar routes from SIN to Europe.

LH, SQ, KL, MH, TG still following the route over northern Iran.

LOT, from SIN-WAW has, by contrast opted to fly over Vietnam, China, Mongolia and Russia.

The thing that worries me with the problems in the gulf is that Australia has only 55 days of petroleum reserves.Equivalent to 34 days of those are kept offshore.I believe the position of Avgas is slightly less reserves. We are truly exposed.
I doubt we're alone in that regard...

Complete rubbish. The Saudis and the Americans are far greater
Really? Iran brings to mind Hezbollah. And Hamas. And Yemen. And Syria. And 6 oil tankers attacked with limpet mines on the past 6 weeks. And that's just in recent times.

Someone did. Now can you suggest someone who will calm Iran down?

Yes really. Why are you surprised? You obviously believe the narrative you hear on TV and not the other side of the story. The Americans have decades of experience using proxies to do their dirty work on all corners of the globe. The Saudis don't even bother with proxies. Who could forget the Saudis made up most of the 9/11 terrorists?

As for the limpet mines, even if you believe it was the Iranians, and the Japanese don't, what would you have the Iranians do when there is an illegal embargo on their number one export? Consider for a moment the US response if another country enforced an embargo on their exports.
