Folks, logic is never going to work here. You will end up pulling your hair out or realising it is all a game. Just sayin.

But I do get entertainment from reading the posts.
Full Disclosure: I am also part of the Costco "Cult" and brainwashed to shop there and over pay for products.

Its ok now it has its own thread rather than the Costco one I like to read. So a choice now if I want to read or not. Like now. :p

Dont get me wrong and neither frustrated. Just think costco has a trick in order to make it all sound its cheap. Think about it. Who in a family travels all the way to costo then end ups penting 200 or 300 dollars on grocery ? one would think you are all a feast in the family if you eat that much.

Not everyone is rich as some would think and reckons they can throw out 300 dollars on grocery in one hit.

Think of it you pay to enter. Like ive stated before. What happens if the whole story was never to pay to enter will costco still be some what (cheap) ? i bet not. THink of it again you must pay around 70 or 80 dollars to register and enter costco. costco understand your in interest in buying something when your in costo store. Now you see things some what cheap. (Its only design to look cheap) only because you have just paid the other half percent of the so what true cheap ?

For example you paid 70 or 80 to enter costco correct ? NOW you see cheap half price on a pack of meat normally 15.00 but its 12:00 dollars for you. What you dont' realise is that with your registered paid 70 or 80 will be paying the other half off the mark price without notice.

Again to make it more understanding as an example.

You just paid to enter costo 80.00 which is alot of money know days..... you see something you like normaly it cost 10.00 dollars but for you it be 5.00 dollars. So it is 5% taken off that item for you and you only pay 5.00 dollars at costco. But what you didn't truely realise the trick was that you didn't actually paid just becuase it says it is 5.00 off the mark price. Sure your only now paying 5.00 dollars at the checkout but your actually paying the hiden cost in the first plaace... that registered you entered before you got in to the shop will cover the hiden so what the other 5.00 of the mark price.

Tricky i know and msot businsss people do this to trick your mind because now they have this register to enter and this and that so they made it this way in order to sound as if everything is truely cheap at costco when its really not.

You paid 70.00 to enter costco. that should cover up whatever your paying at costo now. If the item is 5.00 dollars for you (normally the normal price is 10.00 dollars) but because its some what cheap you pay only 5.00 but think again people.. you just given costco 70.00 dollars to enter those doors.... that 70.00 will cover up everything that is half the price on goods... Tricky isn't it now.

Again to all this. What might happen if costco didn't want anyone to pay to enter those doors? will that item still be 5 percent off ? as in just pay 5.00 dollars instead the full price? Im sure it will then end up costing 10.00 dollars and not 5.00 dollars off because you just entered the store without paying in the first place.

it is all telemarketing and a trick way to deal with people that cost around costco. Just things its a strategist way to make you believe its really cheap. but remember you wasted 70 bucks to enter costo. Now your in costo making to believe everything is half price. Sure it may be half price but you have just paid the other half price because you paid to enter costco. Its a trick way to make you believe such thing you see at the grocery store. Dont fall in beleiving its cheap when its not.

If i was you i would tell them NO i will not pay to enter costco. I will still want to see things discounted. And if its not your a bad business for making us trick on it all.

Why do you think costco wants you to pay that much to enter the doors? because the game is that ones you do that and THEN enter the shop you see things half price discount lets say 5.00 off the mark original price. But what you didnt realise you just paid that other so what price into that cost you paid to enter the doors. So this is what goes with business and its all tragedian way to trick so that the company makes lots of money out of you.

Costco membership works worldwide. Now everyone has a favourite product and seeing it is chocolate time our favourite is Kirkland chocolate coated macadamias that we get in Los Angeles.

The only problem I have with Costco is that on occasion they parallel import goods and claim that they are exactly the same formulation as products sold in other channels here in Aus. They have also been forced to recall a couple of times for selling counterfeit brands - just makes me a bit worried that they put profit before customers. I would never buy skin care or hair care products from there especially.

As you noted. My issue comes to the cost to enter those doors. Who on earth would pay to enter a grocery store ? thats just not right. But the trick was that since eveyrhting is half price at costco. The actual cost you paid in the first place to enter costco membership will cover the rest of the other half price without you even notciing it it went like that.

And also the product isn't high quality it reminds me sort of aldi.. low branded or medium range. I was hopeing costco would had been everything (amercian products american food supply) but it wasn't exactly how i was thinking, Costco fantastic. we all get excited about it but it sort of died down alittle bit really also i should look forward to see LIDLR as ive seen this in europe. Must be germany or from spain the company grocery store. Well it is coming to australia australia already has that aldi german brand but inside is just basic australian food. Just the same as you go to franklins and coles new world and woolies. And also i dont prciate how Jamie oliver takes over our company and now the british young lad thinks he can control our living on our coles stores. I don't think so mr.

Wouldnt it had been fantastic if aldi had all german supplies in australia and that costco would had to be all american supplies for us australians so that we have something much diferent ?

Now you have LIDR coming up soon why not have that all spanish food supply for australia as well.

Why have multiple things that can be found at coles and at woolies and so on. Your only staring up at the brand logo. But im more concentrated on why not international full supplies at costco. Rather then how one is excited with costco just because the brand logo obove the roof.

Maybe a stupid question , but it's $60 per annum and not each visit, correct ?

Stupid questions are questions never asked.

Deal is per annum.

Much like FF points and other loyalties, you have to shop judiciously in order to cover the base expense of being loyal.

Much like credit cards with loyalties vs annual usage and base cost of running the card.

Works best if you have multiple dependants and a spouse etc...v
,......very hard to justify if you are a singular entity, or even a bilingular(made up word I thunk?) couple

Regardless if the membership annually is 60.00 or more. When you shop at costo. because everything is half price discounted for you. The actual amount you shop at costco may not be super much. There for at least the amount you paid to become a membership will come off that from the other half price of the product. So if the meat was 10.00 normally for you is 5.00 dollars because your a costco member. But that other missing 5% (5.00) on that meat will come off from your actual mnembership regardless without you even nowing it worked like that. So for me when yous ee things cheaper at costco. Its not really cheap. You just paid costco 60 dollars to enter in the first place. They going to take avantage of that you paid for by paying the other half price of the meat. You just reality paid 10.00 for the meat instead of really just 5.00 for the meat just because it was 5.00 at costco

Everything you buy isnt really discounted. It is when you enter. But remember how much you just gave costco in the first place before you entered those doors! take note of that. There for they will make the poducts look as if things are half price to you. And you will clearly see that. But because you paid 60 bucks to enter costco.. that other half discount price on that product you want to buy will cover the other half price on top. Whch means you didnt got the meat for 5.00 you just paid vitually 10,00 dor it. Only tho your just paying 5.00 out at the check out. But take note in the concentration of what you just gave costco in the first place. 60 dollars to enter those doors annually. That 60.00 will cover the lies that goes towards the products that sounds so what half price at costco. Dont get me wrong im seriously thinking it might be like that. Its all tricky and bsiness people knows how to trick us so that the bucks goes for them company. They sure wont be getting my money.

So we go thru things at costco you and me

Red meat on a tray its 5.00 at costco. And 10.00 at coles new world.
It is cheaper at costco correct ? of course it is. But one thing you didn't realise was. You gave 60 dollars to costco to become a member for a year.

That 60.00 is actually to cover the secret cost of the other half price of that meat or product.

If costco was free to enter the doors freely. Then you will quickly notice the products at costco specially the meat. will no longer be 5.00 dollars. you be paying the same amount at coles new world.

But because they have this unusual stradigity way to trick people that is the reason why they have this strange thing about msut pay to enter costco. And now you realise you are actually not getting nothing cheaper at costco then what coles is. Because the reason you paid 60.00 was to cover the cost of the other missing half price. which is that meat you just paid is 10.00 but you just paid 5.00 but in reality you just given costco 60.00 to cover the cost on everything that is half price whatever your paying at costco. So i hope people do agree at me or at least one or more would. Thank you. Don't fall in believing such thing at the grocery store specially costco. Its just a warehouse that reminds me nothing more then bunnings without a nice ceiling other then looking at a giant garage made of steel with giant pipes coming thru the ceilings. Nothing special about it.

Re: Costco - Products, Prices and Deals

I was going to give an informed and concise reply to Barbras predicament....

But, I suspect it could be like talking into a hearing aid with a flat battery,

Un-acquirable due to the fact that they are $100 dollars at woolworths..

..... but only cost a Single Dollar at Costco... even if you have to spend $60 to sign up

After Melbournians suffered the great shopping strike of 2016 (closed for one day: Good Friday), they quickly flocked to CostCo Docklands this morning to seek relief from their day-long famine.
So much so that traffic was backed up from the car park entrance, up to the traffic lights and queued up along Footscray road.

In other news, the only thing I find of value at CostCo is the Flavoured Cous Cous.. I buy 5 tubs of it at a time, I go with a mate so they only cost me 12.50 each, not $67.50! Score!!

Re: Costco - Products, Prices and Deals

As I am unable to read all those long posts, I am intrigued as to what is it that only costs a single dollar at Cosco?

What a marathon read. I am a Costco Junkie. I go multiple times and find different things like seafood, meat( Wagyu), toilet paper, washing powder and lots of other things great value. Even books ( Beatrix Potter)! Batteries. I take friends yes, I shop more than once a year so that membership fee is worth it. Wine is great value too( Melbourne ) !
4metotally worth it. Saved more than the membership fee.
