"Island Dining" in the Domestic J lounges: Tips, Timing & Menus

The ham was extremely nice - tender and tasty. I could have eaten it with just a fork ... :D

Unlike my last experience in MEL, they only had a bench table of ten seats set up where previously there's been about 30 spots. Tonight, many others were getting it delivered to their chairs.

Never had island dining offered but my flights are usually before 6pm. I usually sit at the tables in J lounge with power points that have cake on them but maybe too early.

Just worked it out.... SYD menu says "Italian Antipasto" ;)

I am glad this is still going - I had started to think that Island Dining was over!

I hope you didnt do what I did and have the vegetable korma...

OMG that was soooo disgusting! Even the couscous was bland and lifeless... seriously cough food for a 'business lounge'. the food in J on the way to sydney was also disappointing :(

I wanted protein and was dissapointed. Fortunatley back in Y, also to SYD, the dinner was quite delicious. Chicken Pie with beans and some grain thing.... with tim tams on the side!

In MEL now and the "Breakfast plate of the day" is:
Baked egg with pecorino, pesto, semi dried tomatoes and sourdough
Not interested because I am connecting to the SYD F Lounge :D

PS. Only just noticed the juicer!! Self serve/make - they have carrots, celery and apple. OMG best J lounge feature ever!
Didn't notice it on Sat afternoon - must be a breakfast thing only?

There was a juicer in the SYD dom J lounge around lunch time last time I went through a couple of weeks ago.

Ooh juicer, that will be the best thing ever, I agree. Hope it stays and doesn't prove too hard to maintain and disappear.

The juicer has been there for at least 6 months. Not long after Accor took over.
