Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

The 0630 hours SYD - MEL on Tuesday 13 March, JQ529 did not become airborne until 0738. The aircraft (A320 VH-VGP) emerged from its Mt Buller, Vic holding pattern at about 0834 so arrival should be at roughly 0901, 56 minutes late, showing how a late commencement of journey can be exacerbated by 'traffic.'

Also on 13 March, VH-VGR (A320) on JQ702, the 1015 HBA up to MEL that was in the sky at 1104 should arrive at about 1213 hours, 38 minutes late.

Stablemate VH-JQL on JQ763, the 0905 hours ADL - SYD that took off about 20 late at 0939 should be at its allocated spot at 1200 'high noon' (half an hour late) with VH-JQL.

A320 VH-VFI on northbound JQ816, the 1100 SYD - BNE that was in the sky at 1146 should arrive at 1203, also 38 minutes late like JQ702.

Friday 16 March 2018 sees JQ812, the 1000 hours nicely timed for tourists SYd - BNE (A320 Vh-VGR) taking off at 1052. Arrival is predicted to be 32 minutes late at 1102.

Significant weather-related disruption in DRW tonight, with all flights in and out cancelled due to approaching TC Marcus. Currently affects the inimitable JQ ‘red-eyes’ ex/to SYD BNE MEL, and JQ 8x flights (ADL-DRW-DPS and return).
Darwin International Airport

JQ794 on Sunday 18 March 2018 (A320 VH-VGO) is the 1000 MEL - MCY that was airborne at 1325 this afternoon. Arrival looks to be 1432, 192 minutes past the allotted.

The DRW cyclone delays may have something to do with this as the aircraft previously operated JQ563 from BNE down to MEL, arriving two minutes early at 1223, but this was a flight never scheduled to arrive MEL in time to form a punctual morning 1000 hours departure.

A320 VH-VGT on JQ616, the 1355 hours SYd down to MEL that was in the sky at 1455 should pull in at 1614 hours, 44 late.

A320 Vh-VGI on JQ512 (the scheduled 1245 hours MEL up to SYD) is also badly late with takeoff at 1609 this afternoon. Arrival is likely at 1715 hours, 185 minutes tardy. The delay is because the aircraft arrived in SYD this morning on JQ401 (ex OOL) at 0824, 11 minutes early but then did not commence take off on JQ509, the mid morning 1040 hours SYD down to MEL until 1343 this afternoon, almost three hours late.

JQ602 did a full throttle fly around this morning from quite low, aircraft on runway..... landed safely 10 mins later

JQ485 (1530 hours mid afternoon BNE down to NTL, Thursday 22 March 2018 operated by A320 VH-VFX) took off at 1559, about 15 minutes behind schedule but is expected to arrive NTL at 1816 hours, 31 minutes tardy.

JQ476 (VH-VGN, the 1630 hours MEL - NTL that took off at 1701) has been in a hold north of Maitland as it looks from the BOM website that a thunderstorm is nearby, meaning an 'interesting' evening. Other aircraft are also in a similar hold. Supposedly it will arrive half an hour late at 1830 hours.

On Saturday 24 March, JQ510, the latish morning timetabled 1045 hours MEL - SYD (A321 Vh-VWW) is likely to arrive at 1303 hours, 53 minutes late.

JQ753 on Sunday 25 March 2018, the timetabled 1700 hours from BNE down to LST that took off at 1759 with A320 VH-VFI should arrive at 2125 tonight, 45 minutes tardy.

LST - MEL JQ744, the 1815 hours that took off at 1914 with A320 Vh-VFX looks to be arriving at 2015 tonight, 55 late.

Tuesday 27 march 2018 has JQ840, the early morning 0710 hours SYD - PPP not having taken off until 0906 hours. A320 VH-VQM looks to be arriving at 1005 hours, 85 minutes late.

JQ1 (Wednesday 28 March 2018), the scheduled 1610 hours from MEL to HNL (B788 VH-VKB) did not take off until 2011. Arrival should be at 0902 hours today, 167 minutes past the timetable.

Thursday 29 March 2018 sees JQ946 (VH-VQF, the 1120 hours late morning MEL up to CNS) not having taken off until 1200 'high noon.' Expected arrival is 32 late at 1412.

On Wed 28 March, JQ7 , the 12:00 service out of MEL to SIN was delayed to wee hours of 29 March, waiting for the aircraft to pop up to DPS and back,. eventually taking off at 03:01 and landing at ~7:30am local time, some 14.5 hrs late. This rotation seems to be a maintenance rotation to SIN.

As a result JQ 8 on 29 March, the 21:00 from SIN to MEL is delayed to depart at 06:00 on 30 March. Am on that flight. Only bought the tickets yesterday afternoon and found out about the delay immediately after submitting payment, next screen returned confirmation number and rescheduled departure time. :(

Easter Tuesday (3 April 2018) has JQ106 (scheduled 1350 hours PER up to DPS, A320 VH-VGV that took off at 1427) predicted to arrive in Bali at 1813 early tonight, 43 minutes past the allotted.

Can't see it mentioned above but a work colleague returned from Bali last week said their JQ43 MEL-DPS on 21 March was cancelled. Also cancelled was the return sector. Pax were notified by text at 0530am and offered flights via SYD arriving into DPS 12 or so hours later than the 43.

No compensation offered but full refunds were allowed. Colleagues purchased tickets on another carrier. An Eu261, if applicable (not extraordinary circumstances) would have helped cover the additional costs of new tickets. Sadly we don't have one :(

Easter Tuesday (3 April 2018) sees the evening JQ943 (1855 hours CNS down to MEL that took off at 1943) likely to arrive at 2256 late tonight, 36 minutes behind time with A32 VH-VWZ.

JQ964, the 1740 hours OOL up to CNS with A320 VH-VQP did not become airborne until 1935, so arrival is suggested at 2149 hours, 104 minutes late.

JQ503 (A320 VH-VQJ, the 0700 hours Thursday 5 April 2018 SYD - MEL that took off at 0756) was, as at 0855, in a hold above the usual favoured Mt Buller (Vic) location and hence will be at least 45 minutes late arriving at 0920 hours.

The 0615 hours MEL up to NTL, JQ472 (A320 VH-VQF) did not take off until 0856 so suggested arrival at 1016 hours will be 151 minutes behind the timetable.

UPDATE:JQ503 is arriving at 0941, 66 minutes behind schedule.
