Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

On Monday 31 March 2025, JQ34, the 2020 hours evening DPS to MEL took off at 2041 but after a woman (who was travelling with her spouse or boyfriend) stupidly tried to open a door and allegedly was abusive to staff while the plane was at 33,000 feet. It diverted back to 'bogan central' DPS.

A321 VH-OFW looks to still be at DPS if FR24 is correct. JQ34 was cancelled, causing massive inconvenience to the 99 per cent of passengers who were not disruptive.

A media report said it wasn't known if the lady concerned was under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.

Many of us who are not big drinkers (but recognise alcohol has its place as a social lubricant) find it hard to understand why someone in a controlled environment like a plane would behave like this.
