Jetstar International Sale(s)

I just got a mild surprise when my JQ flight(s) posted to my QF account.

I fiddled and fooled around too long and the JetStar Asia flight from Siem Reap to Singapore on 04 Jan moved into JetFlex only. OTOH it posted as two flights as it stopped in Pnom Penh along the way. So the three of us received 2000 QF points for about AU230 each along with 50SC. Hardly a mileage run but useful nevertheless.

Happy wandering

Fred

Yes there is, however those sale fares are almost standard these days.

~$1300 SYD-NRT-SYD Star Class for one person is so so... 2 for that price would get my money down in a flash.

Webjet has details of what seems to be a fairly broad JQ sale - International Cheap Flights and Airfare Specials - International Airfare Specials - Economy and Business Class at Webjet - Webjet.com.au.

One or two people around here have been chasing a JQ starclass sale to HNL. Such fares are available on the above page but I can't remember the thread or members who were chasing the specials.

Many thanks. Not a ripper deal, about $2k return pp vs usual of $2.5k pp (for my dates)

Cheers

One was me, thanks as well but not that special really

The *Class fares to HNL are only about $50-$100 cheaper than normal.

SYD-HNL-SYD is about $1940 and it was about $1980 before this sale

A true *Class sale would be about $1400-$1600 return, looking back at previous sales this is the normal rate.

I'll wait for the next sale, but going off the past few years it appears an influx of sales in

Jan/Feb/March

Then quiet until about Aug/September..

Fingers crossed

Hmmmm ... it looks like the MEL/SIN route is rather "soft".

$1K return, 240 SC's - not too shabby.

We flew the MEL-SIN-MEL route last month (on a similarly priced sale fare) and I can confirm that loadings in *Class were originally# light both ways (assuming that all seats would have been allocated at time of booking.) The MEL-SIN leg was originally# about half-full, with the return flight less than that; about 14 of the 48, if memory serves.

#"Originally", because the outbound flight was cancelled, ostensibly due to events in Japan. The flight thus carried two loads of booked pax, but still at only about 80% capacity in *Class.

Thanks for the info.

I am looking for the ticket for this coming July. Hope the price would cheaper than Brunei Airlines.

Not too sure why it is soft though. Lots of people flying D7 to KUL, lots of others paying through the nose on other sub-standard airlines.

However, took your advice and booked another Starclass return MEL-SIN. BTW, I'm now QF gold, FWTW.

Okay so Jetstar is turning 7 shortly...

Usually around the first few days of May there is a large sale for domestic and international.

Rumor has it 1st of May is something "big" for Jetstar, so I am expecting a big sale around this time, also to try to impact DJ's re-launch a few days later.

Finger crossed for something good for Hawaii

Hmmm curious and curiouser (or whatever the saying is). I've gotta book a return ticket from SE Asia in June .... but think I;ll play it safe and book on the current QF sale.

It's that time of the year and I'll be waiting for something good too!

Just don't know how I am going to squeeze any more flights in in the next 10-12 months :( But I'm sure if the price is right, then I'll work out something ;)
