Decided to cancel to take up opportunities elsewhere.

Sent a letter to cancel and got a phone call today. Lets just say that Jetstar weren't happy and I may have to wait 6 months or more before I apply for another one of their offerings.

If the fed. Govt succeed (or actually do what they pledge) a benefit of this card will disappear (that being a reasonable CC fee.....or whatever it is they call it).

Have just applied for this one, so will see how it goes. If all is fine, I'm only planning on keeping it until just before the 12 month anniversary.

I did not get approved so guess I have reached my credit limit or they don't like my other recent applications.

Great experience with this card for me. 40K bonus recently posted after:

Applied: Early October 2015
Received card and first spend: Mid October 2015
Reached $3K min spend: Late October 2015

The bonus has posted before my first statement has even issued and it went directly into my QF account without having to be swept across.

Early indications for me are that it's Canberra friendly as well, which I wasn't sure about before applying as there has been some mixed reports on that.

I have one also, great sign up bonus. Good points earn

I assumed it may be that.......or bribing politicians!

Yes. I've seen a couple of people say it doesn't pay but I put a tester through after I'd reached the minimum spend and it's showing up in the points total this billing period in internet banking. It hasn't transferred over to QF yet though, so fingers crossed.

I haven't yet worked out how to earn points on brown paper bags, but if there is a way, I'm sure someone on here will find it !

Yep, they are efficient in posting the points.

Cancel as soon as possible so you can take up any new offers they have. The current offer is due to close at the end of this month.

I won't be so quick to cancel. I have been focusing on VA points recently and I also limit my number of applications in any 12 month period, so there's still plenty of QF bonus point fish in the sea for me when I want to throw a line in.

Assuming my initial test is correct, it's also good for 1 pt/$ with the our friends at the Commonwealth government (up to the 100K/year limit). I've been enjoying the cheaper 0.42% surcharge rate rather than stumping up for the Amex rate, so I'm sure I can find a use for it for then next 10 months or so.

Met the criteria a few weeks ago and points were instantly credited (outside of the usual statement points). Very happy camper with this one!
Now to look for new cards and more points. ;)

There's a limit??????????????????????
There is.

Thinking of reapplying before offer closes at the end of the month. Can anyone see any prohibitions?

So 12 days after applying I am still waiting on an outcome. This is certainly taking longer than anticipated!
