So 12 days after applying I am still waiting on an outcome. This is certainly taking longer than anticipated!

I think most have had a relatively smooth experience with Jetstar.

Hubby applied in around 20/10 and was approved last week. We've been busy and had completely forgotten about the application until the cards arrived in the mail.

Applied for this today, hoping it's approved before EOM.

I just called them and apparently I was approved yesterday. Would have been nice to receive some notification, but there you have it.

Just be aware that the minimum spend must be done within 2 months of approval. I rang up to check and my approval date was actually 1 day before the account was opened so that may catch someone out if you leave it to the very last day to make the last bit of spend!

Thanks for the advice!

My plan is to push through my spend on this card ASAP to beat the 60 days.

Couldn't get around to applying until now, but it seems that it would be pointless as the average approval time seems to be longer than a week, right?

I got knocked back twice for this card (different promotion periods). My VedaScore must be too low after so many applications :p

I've had this card for 2 1/2 years and had no trouble getting bonus points. I also have a CBA platinum amex card which we use as the primary card because of the FF earning power (1.25 / $1) with the Jetstar card the backup when amex is not accepted or extra fees are added. The CBA annual fee is due in FEB 2016 and I doubt if I will renew given the cost of $250 plus additional card holder. I fancy the Jetstar card for 1 point per $1 and especially for avoiding those dreadful credit card/booking/service fees when booking flights. At $149 + $39 I think it's good value.

Or just churn your cards and avoid the fees altogether potentially.

I've done a lot of that in the past but having recently retired on a self funded income I'm not sure I would satisfy the minimum income test for some of the better cards. Not to say I wont look around though.

These guys must be really tough. I just got declined - my pay is a way more than double their minimum requirement and I sent a payslip through to confirm it. The laughable thing is have just received my ANZ Blackcard which has a minimum $15000 credit limit. Guess I better stop applying for so many cards. My Veda score is below 600 at the moment.

Cold comfort, but that seems to be the common consensus. I was approved, but for $10k after waiting an age and jumping through all the confirmation hoops. A few weeks later I applied for the Priceline Amex and they offered $15k straight off the cuff......instantly.....and never required any proof (all info supplied was legit and the same as the JQ card app as I ditched a $10k card in between applications). The Macquarie HH card app was worse and I ended up ignoring their request for more info as the card was not overly attractive and after an extraordinarily long wait, it left just a day or so to submit to their requests and gain approval, or lose the bonuses....which was really the only thing I wanted with the card!

It will need to be a pretty attractive offer before I bother applying for a Macquarie card again! I also noticed a story on 7.30 report last night which seems to paint Macquarie as a pack of pri*ks, so I'm likely to only keep the card for the first year anyway, save the JQ booking fees and hopefully by then, the fees will be gone as per the rumours!

Identical to my situation: approved for ANZ Black within 5 days, declined Jetstar Mastercard. Number one son with half my income approved (he's employed 18 months, I'm self-employed for 40+ years).

The application (from the original link in the first post) now has a deadline of 18/1/16. So this offer is still good for another 7 weeks.

I have had a few macquarie cards and can tell you the customer experience is between frustrating and awful. JQ knocked me back a couple of times, probably as I had a sound financial position and they're predatory lenders.... Overall, for under in $200 annual fees over the past 5 years I've collected over 100k in signup bonuses with 1pt/$ Visa or MC... So I tolerate macquarie cards knowing that every second call I make to them will be to cancel before the annual fee comes up...

I've gotta say my experience with this card has been faultless compared to some others.
Applied 6th November
Arrived and activated 13th November
Qualifying spend by 27th November
Bonus 40000 points posted 8th December, before I've even see my first statement.

Very happy.

Yep Mine was seamless as well, very easy and happy.
This is my main QF point earning card now too so looks like I will be holding onto it.
