Hey? That's a bit rude. I thought it would be from card activation. I won't be back from OS for a while, so if they limit the time like that for the QF points, I just won't worry about even trying. Can you buy things like the EB voucher with the card and be qualifying for the points?

Seems a bit harsh, but I checked the T&Cs and it was stated there that it was from approval date so can't complain.
Am happy enough with this card, good earn rate (better than my NAB visa) so will use it until have achieved the required spend, then probably continue to use for remainder of the 12 months for any non-AMEX transactions. Then cancel.

Yes, I think I read that if you purchase J* tix, then the transactions are 6 months interest free so I think I'll just buy 6 months worth of airfares and that'll do it!

Second card arrived today - in Mrs Ralph's name. Took about twice as long to process as my application. Likely a lot of people have applied.

still waiting on mine, will call them next week if it doesn't show, they certainly seem like the "B" team in comparison to other cards I have applied for

I don't know so much. I applied for the HH card (their offer to me, not the other way around) about a fortnight ago and I've heard absolutely nothing! No confirmation of receipt of application, no questions, no request for proof docs, no acceptance, no rejection........nothing (and the card it not that enticing anyway)!

Both the Jetstar and HHonors cards are issued by Macquarie, so it's not surprising your experience mirrors that of people applying for the Jetstar card. Both cards are currently running promotions (40,000 QFF points / 40,000 HH points & 99 annual fee for first year) so it seems plausible that Macquarie are flat out with applications.

As a datapoint, I applied for the Hhonors card in August and it took exactly three weeks from when I applied to when I received my card. The first contact - a letter asking for payslips and for me complete an ID form at Australia Post - took more than a week from application.

So in which case, as I just received a JQ card, I'm guessing they will be reluctant to issue another so soon. Oh well, life is like that, I wasn't that interested in the HH card anyway, but I'll wait another week and see what happens.

My 40,000 points posted today. About 6 weeks after opening the account and reaching the minimum spend. Interestingly I haven't actually paid my first statement yet which isn't due until early next week.

Plan to keep the card until the end of the second statement and then cancel.

how are people going with approvals? I'm thinking about cancelling a few cards and having a go.

I applied under the previous offer of 50k points and was doubtfull of getting approval - credit score hammered by lots of applications. I was approved and points posted with first statement.

I got my points on Friday which was nice. I noticed that my balance due on 16/10 was $0 so I've got another month to pay off what I have racked up which is a nice little bonus.

Very fortunate.

I still haven't paid my statement and am now thinking I should pay and cancel immediately to take up other offers.

Good weekend, received 100K of points from CC bonus offers .... time to pay the bills and move to the next CC

100K was a combo of Bankwet and Jetstar

No ideas on the next one ... this week is research ....
