Waiting for points for cancelled flights to Europe. Advised some weeks ago that the refund could take up to 4 months.
Being optimistic have booked European flights for next January and next April.
I live in hope !

just received email saying my taxes have been refunded (no email for mrs tizeys taxes), but both sets of points have returned to my account. This was a booking cancelled mid/late March, flying end of March 2020.

Thx for update, we were due to fly April 10th so getting closer. Cheers

Waiting for 2 x J May flight points return and it seems overnight one of them finally reversed and points back in hubbys KF account.

Mine... well the last email said 6-8 weeks to process. Considering I lodged my claim about a 4 weeks ago I'll be honest in saying Im pretty bloody disappointed in SQ on this, because they are better than this. Its only data entry, why are they so bad at it?

So still waiting for about 180K in points

So I have a redemption for 1st July, SQ have changed the flights and we can't go anyway.

Best to ring still to cancel or online cancel for refund?

Cancelled a few bookings the other day.

One was able to be done online and both points & $ were refunded almost immediately. Strangely though I got a text asking to ring up as they couldn’t process the payment for the miles refund fee. Odd.

The other couple of bookings I rang up as the travel dates did not sit within those mentioned on the Covid-19 assistance form online. Everything cancelled fine but no points or $ refunded as yet. That would all be fine except for the fact that they managed to charge my CC US$300 for 4x points refund fee. If they can charge me right away then why can’t they refund me right away as well?

I’m still waiting for my points and taxes to be refunded. Cancelled back at the start of April for our flight departing May 22. Singapore have been the slowest so far by a country mile compared to my other flight cancellations and refunds with VA, QF and even dodgy Vueling

I applied for my points to be reinstated and taxes refunded on April 23.

This was received on May 31...

Dear Sir/Madam,

Attached in this email is the Refund Notice for your ticket / voucher / EMD.

You will receive the refund within 4 to 6 weeks, to allow time for the banks to carry out the necessary processes for payment.

For enquiries, please contact the nearest SIA office. Details are available at Singaporeair.com

Yours sincerely,
Singapore Airlines

Both points and money reinstated and in my account on June 1.

Currently battling easyJet, Vueling and TAP.

They must like me.Award bookings on may 15 and 31st.Waited until the second one was cancelled by SQ so cancelled online on May 9th.Received points back + return of taxes on May31 and June 1.Though the second flight was credited first.

Managed to cancel a couple. Points came back instantaneously, no fees charged.
Couple had a flight change so looks like has to be done on their end manually but applied for refund

Just received this by email this evening (Travel waivers now extended till 31 July):

So I just cancelled my 30 July flights back from Paris. This follow having orevious cancelled my flight to London on 6 Jyne, and my flights to from Koh Samui in April. I feel naked now as this probably the first time in about 6-8 years where I have not had any redemptions showing in my account :(

Our global travel waiver policy has been extended to cover travel dates up to 31 July 2020. If you are unable to travel as per your original travel dates, click here to learn more about your options.
If the value of your unused ticket has already been retained in the form of flight credits or if you have recently requested for a refund, please ignore this message.
We look forward to flying with you again in the near future.
Yours Sincerely,
KrisFlyer Membership Services

TBH, I think you were lucky. I have previously cancelled SQ redemptions during normal times and it took a couple of weeks to get the points back.

Do you know if they meant 6 weeks from 20th March (which would be any day now) or 6 weeks from when you spoke to them (i.e. another 5 weeks from now)?

BTW, do your original bookings still show up under "Manage Booking" in your SQ account. Mine do, which concerns me, given that I also cancelled my bookings in March and got email confirmations on 20 March that they were being cancelled.

Bouquets & Brickbats.... This time a bouquet for SQ.
My Scandinavian trip had been cancelled by provider so I cancelled my two October ARN/BNE J class flights , approx. 235K FF miles. They had to do a debit/credit transaction on my credit card, all went smoothly without undue delay & we now have our miles back for 2021.

That’s a great result! October is past their current published waiver date though, isn’t it? How did you get them to do that? Or did you have to pay a fee?

Frankly, Robbegong, I am not sure.
My Son dealt with all the details as he booked the flights on my behalf.

Cancellation of points flight with taxes made on-line 1 April. Got an e-mail saying, yes, accepted, will do.
Called abt mid may to check - said was 'in process but cannot give you a time yet'.
Called 18 June and told already escalated and points and $ would be back in 48 work hours (I knew the $ bit was BS). Absolutely assured, all done & dusted.
I remembered to check yesterday - nothing.
Got the name of a person to address an e-mail to & sent yesterday. Just got a mostly canned response from some other person asking for some 'verification' information. So I was absolutely lied to on the last call; I will generously concede not necc by the agent, but by SQ's 'systems'.

i can't believe any airline could be worse than Qantas, but SQ has managed it.

SQ have been horrible. I received a Email ensuring me that the refund would be processed in 48 hours 2 weeks ago. I canceled online in early April and still waiting for taxes and points

Agree they have been very average. I won’t go on about their inability to automate the cancellation process again but this time it’s the inconsistency. I had three award bookings I have cancelled:

1. Me SIN-HKG in Dec
2. Mother-in-law LAX-SIN in Jan
3. The three NoNames LAX-SIN-BNE in Jan

1 - for some reason was able to cancel this online. Points and cash refunded immediately.

2 & 3 needed to be cancelled over the phone and this was done at the same time. Bookinga dissappeared from my profile straight away.

Rang up about a month later to find out why no refund. Told they would prioritise it and when asked approx how long was told 12 weeks. That’s prioritising it?

Dollars and points for booking 2 showed up about a week after the phone call. Great!

Dollars and points for booking 3 still nowhere to be seen another couple of weeks later.

I would have thought that given bookings 2 and 3 were cancelled at exactly the same time that refunds would have also been processed at the same time. Apparently not.

Just a data point:

I cancelled yesterday online 2xJ saver redemptions and points came back instantly. Still waiting on taxes.

They confirm that all fees are waived when you click to cancel and confirm the credit card the taxes will be refunded to before you hit the actual cancel button.
