KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes

Working for me.

Nothing to or from aus

Yes there is to/from CBR .. 30% discount on business class (43400 miles). Also applies to/from SYD on the same flight number (SQ 288).

Was looking at CBR-SIN ... but unfortunately the fare from MEL-CBR to connect with the flight on the day I need to travel is about the same as an economy fare all the way to SIN!

am I going blind...
does spontaneous escape still exist?
cant seem to find the link to it
nor do I get any of the updates, when im subscribed to it

I did get one in June but looks like all the links are currently broken.

Perhaps updating for a new sale?

Spontaneous escapes are available to be booked from the middle of the month to the end of the month for travel in the following month. I got my Spontaneous escapes email for travel in August on 15 July, which needed to be booked (in theory*) by 31 July. So you won’t see anything in first half of any given month.

* in practice seats probably disappear well before end of the month.

Just picked up 2 seats in J from BNE to SIN in September (not blacked out for the Grand Prix which was surprising). Worth it even after redeeming VA economy to connect and paying the fee to cancel our exisiting Y redemption out of MEL.

New deals out for Feb 2020 travel. Amazing 51% off
- Business and Economy ex BNE and ADL
- Premium Economy ex Sydney and Melbourne

Australia to South Africa In business for a tad over 100k miles + taxes
Australia to Singapore for 60760 miles and A$180.66 taxes.

I have found you don't even have to wait for the email,
I scrolled across a couple of dates yesterday and when I saw that they were just over 30k in points , I booked them on the spot, beats booking with QF.

SQ is miles ahead of QF and VA for International. Availability and lower points cost. i just refresh on 15th or 16th...still don’t have SQ email.

I‘m Looking at SQ Biz to SIN and JQ economy to SGN.
Timings out of Hobart to fit in with ADL or BNE flights to fit in with JQ and SIN Qantas club can’t be done same day or overnight......without night in ADL or BNE I don’t believe. :(

I never get the email about this. Is there a certain list I should be on from SQ? I checked I preferences and I have everything ticked

Hi everyone,

Looking at booking my first redemption on Krisflyer making the most of the Spontaneous Escapes.

The trip is for my old man and his planning on going to MNL from MEL and from my understanding will need to make 4 one ways?
MEL to SIN will be in PE with SIN to MNL in J with the same on the return. Just a couple of questions.

Can I make the booking for my dad on my Krisflyer account?
If i do them as individual bookings online, is there a way to link them together so that baggage etc will be checked through?
Should I just call the call centre to book this and if so will I be charged a fee?

Your help and guidance is much appreciated. Thank you in Advance!

Yes it is , looks like a great deal. The Maldives was on my bucket list.
Agreed. I've been on a couple of Luxury Escapes deals (2 in Bali and 1 in London) and they've always exceeded our expectations. I've been eyeing off a Maldives trip via them for a while, though the cost is insane. One day, the dream will become reality...

Based on my observations today, SQ isnt offering Saver award seats from about 20 days in advance. So If I need to book an awards flight for 4th March, it would seem to be foolish to wait for a Spontaneous escape special released on 15/16 Feb.

Or have I misunderstood, and the period from now until 23rd Feb is simply high season? (see flights SIN>MEL)

I misunderstood, a few days on its obvious that up to 23 Feb is high season. Got misled by the 21 day thing for waitlisting, and assuming a worse outcome, never mind.
