KrisFlyer Star Alliance Round-the-World Award Planning

The total distance travelled.

I was able to backtrack when booking my flights from San Francisco to Sydney. SQ1 (SFO - xHKG - SIN) and SQ231 (SIN - SYD).

Good luck!

SYD-SIN (SQ)
SIN-MLE (SQ)
MLE-IST (TK)
IST-BOS (TK)
BOS-MCO (UA)
MCO-SFO (UA)
SFO-xHKG-SIN (SQ)
SIN-SYD (SQ)

Two passengers. All in Business cabins except for the MLE-IST and MCO-SFO flights.

Is it just me or the SIA website doesn't show any partner award availability?
United has been great but how do I see Eva Air and Asiana flights?

SIA website for me currently offers Turkish Airlines from IST to SIN in alternative airlines. United website certainly lists available Eva Air. It depends on when you are flying and on what routes. What is of more concern to me at present is that the Star Alliance RTW planner is not listing any Singapore Airlines flights even though they are available if I go to the SIA site!

It has always been the case that some partner airlines are not shown on the Singapore Airlines website. Asiana has never been shown AFAIK, although I have been able to see EVA Air availability in the past.

You can't book a RTW award on the Singapore Airlines website anyway, so best to use the United website to search for partner availability (although the SQ website is still best for actual SQ flights) and then call to book.

You guys are correct. It was my fault, I forgot EVA Air only flies to BNE not SYD.
I don't seem to see any J award availability though, do they release it closer to the departure date?

If there's award seat on the ANA website, can we book via Krisflyer?

Not necessarily if it's an ANA metal award flight available on the ANA website - they could make more seats available to their own members than there are available to partners. (Same applies for most airlines.)

If that ANA flight is available on the United or Air Canada website (for example), then you should be able to book with KrisFlyer miles.

Edit: I just checked and the United website shows 1 business award seat on NH889 on that date - so yes you should be able to book that particular seat with KrisFlyer miles. But you can't know this for sure by checking only the ANA website.

Thanks @Mattg I wasn't seeing any availability on United because I searched for 2 tickets.
Look at the calendar below, what a difference.

Does ANA slowly release award tickets? - will they release another award ticket on the same flight after the first one gets picked up?

I don't believe ANA does this systematically. AFAIK most SYD-HND flights just have one seat released. But you never know.

Yup, just checked the whole of 2021 and each SYD-HND flight only shows 1 award availability.
Looks like I have to count ANA out unless I battle the missus for the seat.

Yes they are. I booked with KrisFlyer in September for July and August next year. Visiting USA, Canada, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Turkey. Two business class RTW. Hoping that the Covid testing regime is not too strict as some cities we only plan to visit for three nights!

I wanna do FC ATW next year, honestly have no idea where I want to go alone 😬
