With the discount MH fares on offer I am now interested in this.

Is there any sort of master list of who is doing what and which flights they are on?
I have had to pull the pin on the idea of going to this unfortunately, but cash flow is the winner and KUL is the loser.

Sitting at the bar in the SIN QF lounge now, the BA lounge is indeed closed, and has a sign pointing to the QF lounge, stating that it won't reopen until "summer", whenever that might be. What used to be a quiet place from 9pm is looking like a zoo until all the way till closing time - although swapping the Aussie accent with the British.

Oh dear. The EK lounge may become the lounge of choice in SIN for the next few months. :(

I'm starting to think afternoon tea in KUL on the Saturday would be a good idea. Anyone interested? The hotels usually put on a rather good spread.

At the early evening peak hour (6-8pm), there are 3x A330 QF departures, plus the BA to SYD, and from late June, there will also be a few on the 738 to PER. In the new late evening peak hour (9-11pm), there is 1x A330 QF depature, plus the 2x BA departures (1x 77W, 1x A380). I'll let you do the sums... To be completely honest, i don't even know how we would be able to find an empty dining table for ourselves when we arrive at the QF lounge on the day.

Just a bit of a sanity check on my KL accommodation plans. My flight arrives at 8:45 pm on Saturday night. While KL is a bit of a late night town, I think 30 minutes into Sentral for a Hilton stay would be a waste (but still under consideration). I'm thinking of doing the airside hotel for 6 hours, then heading to a slumber room at the golden lounge, third party info says the lounge is open 24 hours.

Insane?

Not insane, doable but best check if there's a maximum time limit on the room usage at the MH F lounge. Don't know about you but I find the flight announcements too loud to fall asleep in the room.
Have you considered DT? Not difficult to get to from Sentral.

Only 4 slumber rooms so no guarantee of getting one (and not that great)...

I would go to sentrl

No time to look right now but just received this notification from MH.

Me too.

I was actually looking for departure gate the other day on the KLIA website and MH627 wasn't listed. :(

I'd like to see the staff canteen location.

I think there is a Silk Air operated codeshare around 10am. Not sure I'm bothered to try changing onto it.

Same, same. Looks like a longer breakfast in KUL, and the staff canteen as the only landside SIN option for me.
The flight appeared to be a full flight so not sure what is going on.

Stuffs up plans slightly for me and fiancée. Was going to go to Casino for a couple of hours and be back at airport by ~3:00pm-3:30pm. Will struggle now.

I have just spoken to the MEL MH office and have at least been able to confirm a seat. 6C now instead of the original 5C.

Oh darn. Didn't think about seat selection.

The silk air flight was a code share, marketed by MH, but I don't know the lounge access rules.

Would Silk Air still allow lounge access in KUL?
Flight needs to be both marketed and operated by OW airlines, so we are stuck with MH flights.

I'm guessing that all of us have been moved to MH603 departing at 11:55am. Given that it lands in SIN at 1pm, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to head out of the airport. There are, however, 2x staff canteens providing local food - we can visit both. We can even crash the canteen at the CARC if we are game enough.

If we must have crabs, there is a restaurant in T2, but we would be looking at $40 per person minimum for a full lunch, so probably not the best in terms of value.

There is another flight departing KUL at 9:25am. It might be a feasible option for those who want to spend more time in SIN (airside or otherwise).

Also keep in mind that the BA lounge in SIN is closed, so we have only MH, Skyview, and QF, plus EK for those on flying on QF.
