KUL SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2015

Oh darn. Didn't think about seat selection.

Only way to get a seat assigned is via a phone call. Or, in the case of myself, I didn't pay for it so I'll have to play roulette later.

Silly thing is I received a travel itinerary from MH yesterday and thought there had been a flight change. Checked the email and same flights/times appeared so thought all OK.

Can't get on earlier flight as we arrive in KUL at 9:10am.

I had the same. The MEL office were able to check seating and email me the new itinerary.

I have just spoken to the MEL MH office and have at least been able to confirm a seat. 6C now instead of the original 5C.

I called seems to have transferred me across into 5D with no worries.

I wonder if it is worth trying to get on the last BKK-KUL flight the night before and then the 9:10am KUL-SIN on 07 June?

We are in business class but this is a day trip only and our time in SIN has been reduced from ~8 hours to ~6.5 hours.

I consider a ~1.5 hour change to be significant. Not sure MH would see it the same.

I don't know how they do it, but occasionally, they sell tickets on the website like that as well.

So now... do they expect you to get off the plane in SIN and then get back onto the same plane and fly back to KUL to make the connection?

Called Brisbane office a few minutes ago. The guy was helpful offering a few suggestions like going back to BKK Monday morning and offer of accommodation in KUL.

I suggested BKK-KUL Saturday night followed by KUL-SIN at 9:25am Sunday morning. Then SIN-KUL at 4:50pm followed by KUL-BKK ~8:30pm on codeshared TG flight. Worry about Original Routing Credit later. Qantas should be OK for my flights but not sure how I go with Aadvantage for fiancée's flights. I have also asked about KUL accommodation.

Request needs to go to management.

Still on the flight you guys are on and we need to leave SIN at ~4:50pm to make connection in KUL which only leaves a couple of hours in SIN.

Waiting to see if they can offer the TG codeshare flight KUL-BKK Sunday night. If worse comes to worse we sleep in Golden lounge for a few hours.

I recall watching the arrival video when I was on MH last month, they said they provide arrival lounge access. However, I don't know if they mean just those travelling on MH in J/F and Enrich members, or if it extends to all OW elites.

Both Jess and I are on the 9-ish MH flight to KUL on the Sun night, so if you are unable to take the codeshare, feel free to join us on this flight.

Not as much time as I had hoped for Lounge Crawl but a good result. The BKK-KUL flight is a 777 and the KUL-BKK flight a 787 so a couple wins there. First time on a 787.
