KUL SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2015

My original intention was to fly to KUL from SYD on the overnight flight arriving on the 7th and join with you on the lounge crawl in KUL, catch MH627 and have lunch with you. I think its going to be too hard for me to join the SIN crawl and try to get back as I only have a limited number of days in Singapore and would rather see the city. Now that Qantas is offering $299 one way prices from Sydney to Singapore, that's made me rethink my plans. My instincts are to stick with the original plan - otherwise, it may only be meeting up for lunch. :(

Conference in SIN on 8-10 June. Airfares got to the correct price for the lounge run.

Did I read correctly that some people departing SIN on MH on the 7th?

Regrettably my contract in Darwin is up and I'm now going to be driving back to Sydney on the long weekend (and following week). Next time.

Seeing these Qatar fares, I'm thinking of a europe turn around now.

Not good

Ex where?

I was going to book QR ex SIN. Was shattered to find I had missed the deadline, but I now see that ex BKK is on sale. Win win all round!

ex SIN seems to be there, or ex kul. prices don't seem that good. I'll check BKK.

I am on MH610 SIN-KUL @2115 on the 7th
I'm booked on it too. Given that I need to be in the office in SIN on the 8th, and the location of the said office (1 station away from the airport), it might actually make sense for me to stay in KUL for the night. Think I might just be a cheapskate for the 8th however, and fly on 3K.

If the return 3K flight is first thing in the morning, then the only real requirement is not the lounge, but the coffee! :)

About to bite the bullet and book the MH flight ADL-KUL on the Saturday. Arriving at 20:45, so no dinner with the group for me in KUL.

Edit: And booked. So I'm confirmed platinum for the Sunday.

Still have to work out if I'm doing the conference in SIN or not.

Hi Medhead, MH Enrich has 50% off from ADL. Are you flying J? Was thinking of Y but will go J if you are. Noticed it expires tonight so I've got to bite the bullet soon too!

I'm flying Y. Couldn't get approval for J. It's a long story, had just about all the points required for J except in 4 accounts. Transfer fees only resulted in a marginal saving for a J award. But yes, with MH from adelaide. L fare.

Great to hear. Where are you planning on staying in KUL?

I'm not sure. Given the late arrival and early start I was thinking of an airport hotel. But it seems a waste.

It's kind of a waste anyway with the later flight, I suppose. Shame the flight wasn't in the morning like it is on most other days of the week.

Please mark myself down and fiancee as Platinum for this event.

The MH non status earning economy airfare BKK-KUL-SIN on 07 June was ~THB21,000 and if I wanted to get in the day before and continue with lounge crawl on Sunday the airfare was ~24,000THB.

I was just checking flights again now with a view to booking the next few days and I have no idea what possessed me to check business class but the quote was ~THB19,000 for the 2 of us. I thought that had to be a mistake so checked economy and then back to business class and airfare was still the same so I did the logical thing. Books into Z class and I will more than likely credit mine to QF as my year begins on 01 June and will credit the fiancees to her Aadvantage account held in trust for me! ;)

Only issue is we are on the 10:15am MH627 flight KUL-SIN as the 11:55am party flight was ~THB11,000 more  and not justifiable. I will try to change to that flight in BKK that morning but I suspect it is full. We will join you in KUL for 20-30 minutes in morning and as we get into SIN early I will head out to city for a little while to show my fiancee around. Not interested in expensive chilli crab but we may see you all at the lunch venue chosen for a drink or 2.

Heading back to KUL on the 7:15pm MH616 flight and then straight to BKK that night so I can play some golf Monday-Wednesday. ;)

That's excellent news. Also, the party flight seems to be the 10:15 MH627 at the moment. Haven't really heard from the others but Jess and I are booked on it. So you definitely don't want to change that flight. :) Either way, I would say that the highlight in KUL would be the breakfast in the MH satellite F restaurant, so as long as you tick this off the list, that's most of the work done.

Finally sorting my departure from SIN. Looking like QF36.

Edit: The qantas IT intern has been at it again. Using multi city booking, select business class. Get an error measure that this fare type is not known to their database.
