Must be silly season with airfares on MH from SIN. Just checked and appears to be SGD500+ return in economy. o_O

Trying to get flight out of SIN to KUL on Saturday.

No Qantas award flights on 3K that day although awards available every other day.

Air Asia usually requires ~1,594 BigPoints for this sector but on this day the 3:00am flight is ~11,000 BigPoints and all other flights are 15,000+ BigPoints.

There's an Air Mauritius flight mid-morning reasonably priced but don't think I can make connection from EK BNE-SIN flight. Any other airlines to try apart from the usual suspects?

Bus or train for something different?

Ah. That explains it.

Booked on MH623 KUL-SIN on Sun. Sitting in 1F.

And Im the person in 1A

So Im booked on MH623 into SIN and MH610 back to KUL on the same day with trippin_the_rift. Am QFWP so access should be ok.

Anyone else arriving early in Singapore?

I'll be there from the Tuesday (flying over on QF81) as I have a couple of days of work meetings before our crawl. If anyone wants to catch up for coughtails, or a visit to Lau Pa Sat for satay let me know!

Staying at the Intercontinental Robertson Quay as I like that area (and also a short walk to Common Man - one of my favourite brunch places there).

Also, if anyone hasn't booked yet (or has an award booking and would like a higher cabin), there is an F award seat on QF36:

What about heading over the causeway and getting JHB-KUL?

Whatever you do, avoid road transport like a plague, especially since the date coincides with the end of Ramadan celebration. I learnt it the hard way last year, I thought a 4.5 hr trip would be a great way to get to Penang from KL on a bus, ended up taking almost 9 hrs with traffic jam on the north-south highway. Worst experience ever. There’s ETS train which you can catch from Johor, they have online booking and I heard they’re very good.

I must have snapped up one of the last QF awards on MH for SIN-KUL  10K points is a great deal compared to the SGD $400++

John, you can try ex-another city if you're flying into SIN. MH is expensive ex-SIN departures but cheaper eg ex-BKK even with a connection.
Firefly from Seletar into Subang?
Ethiopian the day prior to the event?
Krisflyer availability? Silkair is 7.5K miles

Flights already booked. Arriving Saturday morning on EK. I was simply trying to find a different way to get to KUL.

3K on Saturday morning is around AUD120 and I guess earns QFF SCs. Air Asia may also be around same price.

Air Asia from JHB is around AUD30 but how to get to JHB from SIN airport? Taxi from Woodlands?

Unfortunately I am no longer able to attend this event.

A car decided to T-bone me on Tuesday and I've been in hospital. Had surgery yesterday and won't be able to walk for at least 6 weeks. Doc said I am not to fly anywhere until the end of June - so I guess I'll be doing my first travel insurance claim!

I'm ok, and it turns out the hospital food is better than a lot of QF J catering I've had lately anyway :p
