Lack of curtains separating Business and Economy on 737

Yes this does sum it up well and IMHO no need to have business class at all on shorter flights. Refurb older 738s and make them all economy and run them solely on short route east coast flights. Make them just like Jetstar.

I was about to type "no thanks"! Then I saw your post below and got the sarcasm! :D

You make a good point though. They have JQ as the LCC. Why are they trying to make the mainline more like JQ?

Yes QF and others let’s make the experience for row 4 much better. How dare the J customers expect to get the experience they are paying for

Pin it a little higher.
But there isn’t enough material to do that JohnK. You need the drop to be able to take it back.

I thought we were talking about Dom and short International flights ( eg DPS) here.

You do realise people used to sneak through the curtains too.

I suspect some people won't be happy until their is a six foot high barbed wire fence and a FA with a machine gun standing guard

I would say at least 15 Y passengers came up to use the J toilets on our short flight to NOU last weekend. Both pilots had to wait to use the loos. I thought that was completely unacceptable. Eventually we asked one of the FAs if there was any kind of ruling. He just said ‘when you got to go, you got to go’.

Good thing we were in Row 1 and could easily see when the toilets were free for us to use.

On the rare occasions that I fly Economy I would not dream of using the Business toilets. I know how much those seats cost and I think exclusivity is part of what you pay for.

I was wondering what happens if someone tries to open the overhead bin that the curtain is tied back against. Looks like the curtain had to be untied - so no good for boarding. I wonder if the bin is locked and not usable, at least until the curtains are shut - so not a great arrangement.

Never been an issue on any of the aircraft i’ve been on. The bins have room to open and close easily, regardless of the position of the curtain (ie it doesn’t have to be untied to use it)

I know - normally, but that photo (and the angle doesn't help), looks like the curtain is tied right up to the bin (and hangs right in front of the middle seat as well).

Steady stream of pax were turned away on our flight to AKL on Friday. FA wasn't having a bar of it. Only one got through from Row 4 when she wasnt looking (and he went in bare feet ).
JetConnect or QF mainline? I've noticed more often than not that Jetconnect crews enforce this (and other, security protocols in that area) far better than QF

I thought of this thread on Thursday, flying CBR to BNE. Announcement was made that front toilet was for business, back toilet for main cabin. I was reading my book, but I don’t believe there was any invasion from the rear :)

Same for CBR to MEL yesterday. Proof that Canberrans are just classier people.

Or that it’s a short flight. And was noticeable that two pax in Row 4 put their stuff in the lockers above row 3. A curtain would have made it tougher for the items to be retrieved mid flight.
