LATAM; Gold Coast Booking issues?

Hi. My daughter has been attempting to book a flight from the Gold Coast with LATAM - flying to Chile, return

She keeps getting 'access denied' or 'flights not available' after she has selected the flights, put passenger and payment details in AND the card is approved although the LATAM site says the flights are there. (Travelling paid economy)

As I understand, it is a partnership with Jetstar. Is anyone aware of any issues with flights from there?

Thanks!

I would not be booking connecting flights with Jetstar. The bags won't be connected and she won't be entitled to the airside transfer between SYD terminals. If you can't get suitable QF connections, book out of BNE.

In fact if you book out of BNE she might be able to get a QF flight to AKL and connect to LATAM from there.

Thanks for this. Could I clarify as to why the bags and airside transfer wouldn't be connected? I may be wrong but as I understand, the flight is Codeshared with Jetstar.

Interesting idea about QF tho... Nevertheless, the issue may be cost for her. There is a super-tight budget

Thanks!

Jetstar domestic (ie OOL-SYD) will not connect bags with anything - itself, Jetstar International, Qantas, oneworld etc - nothing. All bags go to the carousel regardless. Not a deal breaker but a major inconvenience (they would have to collect bags, use the landside bus with all bags and recheck with LATAM).

The SYD airside terminal transfer is only offered for QF domestic flights, it does not extend to Jetstar.

BNE is a much safer bet and it's only $28ish to get there on the train from the Gold Coast.

That’s terrific Thanks.

JQd comes into T2 at SYD.
The transfer bus is (goes) from SYD T3 to SYD T1.
So, its a pain having to reclaim bags off carousel at SYD T2, go through security at T3 with HLO (what about bags ie big bags that has to go into plane hold).
Have to go to T1 from T2 with Tbus, and then show id at LATAM T1, with everyone else... might as well do as above suggests, go via BNE.
If flying out via BNE with QFd and linked PNR, just have to show passport to BNE Qfd, and have BP for both QFd BNE - SYD, and also SYD - SCL, and then at T3, get the QF bus to T1 on the internal road.
Bags (plane hold type will automatically go to T1 without daughter having to pick it up at T2 as JQd needs you to do.
Maybe the link with JQd is not the best, so indirectly, they want you to go QFd, charging $$$ more.
