But will a 20-somthing gal who doesnt travel too often fit in? :D Very tempted....might be my one and only chance to see inside a lounge :p

I think you'll be welcomed enthusiastically ;)
Seriously though,I went to my first ( second if the QF Lunch is counted) AFF event at the Xmas drinks in MEL and found everyone very friendly. It was a great night and good to get out from behind the keyboard.
Sadly I won't be able to attend this event as I'll be patching up the general public at work :(
Enjoy :D

EDIT:
Disclaimer: I'm not quite 20-something but still act as though I am

If you enjoy flying, I am sure a few members will enjoy talking to you.

Lounges are good places to meet new people, just grab a beer or wine and you will fit right in.

Well some are........

Well you are the friendliest but you won't be there, you will be 859 miles away.

I might consider attending but with the event on the next day not sure if I could handle that much excitement in 1 weekend. ;)

blackcat20,

Don't be like some people and be too embarrassed to say hello the first time :!:

blackcat20, we've all had that thought after out first AFF meet up thinking "Why didn't I come to one sooner?" they are a fun time, and we usually don't talk about planes most of the time.

There's also free food and booze. :p

Pity .. If anyone is keen for a head start on drinking (24 hours worth) come say hi to me in the lounge!

Have a good night

It's worth it to see a lounge.. next thing you will be joining us on Lounge runs!

My recommendation: Just do it!

Seems some are edgy about first time flying and others are edgy about first time with AFF members. Maybe we need to run training courses for the latter fear. In my limited experience I've found them friendly, interesting and fully house trained:D.

Cheers skip

VA lounge is easy to find... it's before security.

Or you could do what I did a year ago, go through security and spend 20mins trying to find it airside.

But it's really easy to find, look for the big purple and glass door.

Funny Liam! Very funny!:mrgreen:

It's just logical! It never crossed my mind that a lounge in a major domestic port would be landslide!!!

You are correct there.. actually i would have laughed harder had you gone from one pier to the other (thus walking past it!)

I entirely forgot to say .. I'm confirmed for this one! :)

Sadly, now a non-starter :( will be in BNE looking after some family stuff.
Hope everyone has a great night! LiamR, will have to catch up with you some other time. :D
