Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Don't give them any ideas to further 'enhance' QFF. They may say it's just making it simpler and fairer . . . .

Fairer for them is simpler for me.

I would be quite happy to be locked into LTG and only choosing QF/partners if necessary. But removing the benefit of "locking me in" before I get there will only make me think about looking elsewhere for a better deal ;)

The ball is in their court! :p

Others will see it differently of course, and I've heard as much from QF at a lunch when it was suggested I was more of a liability with LTG than "locked in". Clearly they don't view my loyalty as much as I view theirs ;)

You can get it refunded to the card it was paid on, I have I think four or six months worth but given I don't have the card it was paid on anymore I never finished the paperwork. PITA. At least I now have a card that has an interesting expiry.

Mine was refunded by cheque as the credit card was long gone. Call the service centre to organise the refund. A painless experience IIRC

LTP will never be introduced - regrettably, as I'm fully prepared :(.
Is the new Platinum worthwhile?

Every week and another benefit is diluted. Not much difference to Gold unless you travel a lot internationally.

I retain WP with an annual DONEx, so it's easy and handy.
I was mainly referring to Lifetime Platinum.

Bulkheads are now gone. So international F lounge, 25% extra bonus points over Gold and a few extra kgs luggage allowance. I can't see any other benefit.

Business lounge domestically rather than QC. Better chance in upgrade lottery. The ability to call up and have a FF seat opened up for you when none are showing as available. And the unpublished benefits like headphones/champagne/J amenities kits on long haul Y.

I recently made LTG and there was impressively little issue in having a cheque sent out as a refund for my remaining Qantas Club membership (with the credit card used for the original payment no longer in existence).

When QF do it right they are awesome

Chasing things up can be a tad frustrating at times (hello Aquire team), but I've found that the people generally make up for an extremely cough IT system. It may take a while, but I've never not received points I was entitled to.

So yeah I just tripped over the 14k level myself. Haven't had an email or any indication of change on my QC summary page (but currently P1, so I guess that trumps LTG anyway). Should I expect anything (as in an email, or letter or something to acknoledge it) or just quietly keep calm and carry on flying? :)

Congrats! 14k is still a lot of SC's! I am still 2k SC's off LTS.

Congrats mate. Welcome to the club :)

The question is, whats next? Keep crediting to QF & hoping one day they'll introduce LTP?

Personally I probably will credit to QF for those flights since you never know, but I may shift some focus to other programs (non OW) to work towards goals over there, depending on my travel patterns. The lack of a LTP or similar does lessen the thoughts to keep pouring SC's to QFF, but they all add up, so at some point they may say "hey you got 20K SC's.. have a model 787 and a bottle of diet coke" and that might be nice :D

You'll get a very underwhelming letter in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime congrats and welcome to the club.
