Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Flying F using points? Otherwise LTG would only give you J lounges. If F, you don't need status

Correct. I don't normally purchase full freight F tickets therefore, points will deliver what status once did. In my post SC accumulation phase - I'll cast a larger point harvesting net and give those SQ suites a run for their money :D

I almost feel like with BA Gold offering life time now, we should rename this thread as this is no longer the holy grail ;)
Not really relevant to Australian residents without overseas address but out of interest how many years to attain lifetime BA Gold?

35000 Tier Points (Gold is 1500 TPs per year, so just over 23 years as a Gold if you were to obtain it that way)

I plan to get many decades out of mine. I crossed the 14,000 barrier at the age of 46 ... reckon we've got at least 4 decades of usage in us.

I'll probably dropout of the SC rat race around 2018 - this is when we'll start doing LH sectors exclusively on points ... plan to see the inside of F lounges many years after I've lost status rights.

How do you plan on redeeming LH F awards? Using SQ KF? AFAIK, they've dried up redemption opportunities for LH F using partners.. even AV LM.. not to mention only opening them up at T-14 days or so.

ISTR a report here of a P1 who got almost that amount in one year - 30,000+ SCs... that's like a MEL-LHR J/F return every week.. or the same to LAX/JFK!

What happens to the unused port of a Qantas club membership when you reach LTG? I may have 6 months left.

In this case LH = Long Haul

You can get it refunded to the card it was paid on, I have I think four or six months worth but given I don't have the card it was paid on anymore I never finished the paperwork. PITA. At least I now have a card that has an interesting expiry.

LTP will never be introduced - regrettably, as I'm fully prepared :(.

As diluted as WP is becoming, & going on other suggestions online, maybe WP1 will be the new OWE (at some point, god knows when) but maybe never say never as PS might just get dropped off the radar, PS being the new NB, SG being the new PS & WP being the new SG & WP1 being the new WP.

You just never know. Im sure there will be lifetime WP, don't know when, but when it is, it may only be as good as SG now.

Don't give them any ideas to further 'enhance' QFF. They may say it's just making it simpler and fairer . . . .
