Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Well tomorrow morning on QF406 MEL/SYD I'll join the club. (I've been putting it off and have been flying VA :) )

Rather ironically on this route as that's been by far and away the most popular route for me in my QF lifetime, including a few years monorail commuting.

Thank you AFF and all the posters who have helped me in my travels, you have allowed me to travel in style and experience what I never thought id be able to do.

Welcome to the club. May you never need to use it. :)

I must admit I have no idea when I made LTG  I think I only became aware of it after I joined AFF, saw a discussion of lifetime SCs and wondered why mine weren't showing on the web page.

Huh? ... I definitely need to use my imagination as there's been little enough in any corporal form ...

Exactly!
I think there may be AFFers who have reached, or almost reached, Triple Lifetime Gold, judging from some of the astonishing annual SC counts reported.
Perhaps they do receive glamorous benefits - but, if so, it's probably more because of their current travel patterns, rather than the lifetime earn. :)

Any benefit of passing 'go' again has eluded me .

LTG is only insurance for a travel future that may not permit retaining WP each year. Eeeek! - what a horrible thought!:shock::shock::shock:.

These days it's a parachute for when you turn your attention towards building status with another OW or *A airline - what a pity!

If you want the card, all you have to do is ask, perhaps especially as a P1. They sent me a Silver one without the QCASH details on the back when I requested earlier this year, expecting to hit Gold and never have the LTS card... but now I might be forever creeping towards LTG as travel patterns have changed :(

I'm at 59% to LTG. Don't really care much about it so long as I maintain Gold year to year.

i am hoping that 3 more DONE4 trips over the next 2 years with work will get me over the line and then I can think of other options.

expect to lose my VA Gold status next month, as could not chase both, especially when paying for my own domestic flights
