I had an odd SC balance ending in a 3, but I got a Status Booster 7 SC adjustment to my account mid December when I was 5 SC short of re-qual for Platinum. I subsequently flew again so I ended up with 1212 SC for the year

10 SCs to go! But I've done them...

This week I've flown 100 SCs with MH that should post next Monday.

And another 30 SCs on QF next week should ensure WP for another year.

It took 12 years for me to get to LTG. :)

Congratulations Austman.

12 years? Seem about right. I had about 4K garnered over 6 years when I can across AFF.

It only took a few more years after that for the other 10K.

Took me 17 years - it gets quicker as you get older and have more time/money for travelling. :)

That's right - it took me five years to go around the second time ;):). All of that time was post-retirement.

First time, mostly while still working, was slowed by Ansett being the contracted main carrier  and having to fly whY .

We were 14 years to LTS and 3 to Lifetime gold. All of it was personal flying, so kids and money were the biggest constraint. :) I am sure if I had found this board sooner, it would have been quicker!

Achieved LTG (officially) on Monday 22nd Feb 2016.

I took my first QF flight, as LTG, on the evening of Tuesday 23rd Feb 2016. On the same flight I would be ticking over WP again for another year. I was flying QFi in Y.

The on-board recognition, as a WP (and now a LTG) on this flight was actually worse than most of my previous QFi flights. It was there - but nothing was offered except for a single express arrivals card (and none for my +1 sitting beside me). I asked if 2 glasses of champagne might be possible and was told they would have to wait. They did come later in a plastic cups.

I eventually mentioned, after dinner and lights out, that I only yesterday achieved LTG. That was a big mistake and too much of a DYKWIA moment I suspect. No crew even knew what LTG was! The CSM said, I know you're a WP and that's all. Not even the iPads have more info than this it seems.

The CSM thought a express arrivals card was all that was required. The CSM then, and only very reluctantly, agreed to offer a glass of champagne (in an actual glass). But I pretty much had to beg for it! Oh well. Not the best flight but perfectly fine for Y class.

Note to all: LTG means nothing to crew! I suppose it's logical when you think about it.

Congrats on achieving it, even if you sound a bit flat about it all. Still a handy thing to tuck away for the future!
