Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I just want to say a big thanks to the AFF forum members. When I first found this forum I had a mere 330 status credits, and honestly didn't really understand how I had even earned them. Now 6 years and 47 weeks later after my return F flight from AKL on the QF coded EK flight I've just achieved 14045 status credits and with it Lifetime Gold. This was only possible with the knowledge and expertise of this forum. So a big hearty Thank You.

Congrats seat11a, that’s a pretty fast climb to LTG

you sound like us - I remember getting upgrade certificates and throwing them away as I didn’t know what to do with them. After discovering this forum I learnt so much! Took 14 years to get LTS and 3 LTG.... It is a nice thing to have for domestic flying.

After joining QF after the demise of Ansett, I’m glad to say that I've finally reached LTG. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to upgrade my flight last week to business as it would have been a nice way to celebrate. 95% of my flights have been in Y, so it’s been a long haul. At this stage I’ll continue to fly QF as I see no point in changing. I can see many advantages with LTG as retirement approaches.

Only 160 SC to go! I was supposed to achieve LTG when landing at JFK later this week, but unfortunately the bankruptcy of AB means I'll have to wait until I get to CLT to get the missing 20 SC. Charlotte is less glamorous than NYC to celebrate...:(:D

I was a little surprised when I received the email this morning saying "Congratulations - you've reached lifetime gold status".

Haven't been tracking the LTG numbers - and I'm only a little aware of my annual SC's. I don't follow them slavishly (is that a word?).

Anyway - it's nice to have!

Congrats Comoman, not sure how you don’t track SC but each to their own :)
Well done Conoman. It does seem pretty laid back, I agree. I certainly pay close attention to my status credits earn.

Well you have to go onto the website to track lifetime status credits rather than use the app. If you are going to keep Gold or above status there's no rush to get LTG.

If you know you'll e.g. easily retain a status level but go nowhere close to levelling up then you may not wish to pay much attention to current year's status credits earn either except maybe towards the end of your membership year just in case your gut feeling as to where you are at is wrong.
