Meanwhile I'm stuck in no man's land! 15k TP (SC) with BA, but no benefit until I hit 35k (lifetime OWE) so just over half way with a couple of years of non-earning thanks to COVID. QF I think I left at about 5k SC and probably will sit there for a long time into the future. I do still have a Lifetime QP membership though, not that it's really worth much currently for me.

That's why I haven't considered BA. It's a long way to 35k TP and it's still an assumption that both BA and QF will remain in OneWorld.

I'm still working my way towards LTS and would have passed that mark easily by now if it were not for COVID. My progress to LTG has been delayed by probably at least a few years.

Indeed, I was averaging 3k TP / year (largely personal travel with the odd bit of business here and there) but COVID put paid to that! I'm not going to go out of my way for LT OWE now and if/when it happens great, but COVID has definitely changed mindsets.

Well done Boomy ... I was on track, but, alas, my path to LTG has been cut off by Covid - I used to fly HBA-WLG every month, Euriope and Asia once a year each, and at 74 I'm unlikely to be able to catch up on lost time. I still won't chance flights to NZ until we get herd immunity and covid more under control. Don't want to risk quarantine, thanks!

Anyway, if I can't fly, I don't really need lifetime gold, LOL.

So yesterday QF713 CNS-BNE earnt me lifetime gold status - it took just over 19 years. As a fun fact, the 737 assigned, VXD was delivered a month before I joined the frequent flyer program which I thought was pretty cool!

When the challenge was harder, less $ to spend kids, mortgage, super, taxes I burned along

now the challenge is easy, (gifted 600 SCs), financial obligations are 99% done, I’m stumbling along to LTG... maybe will arrive someday ....

Finally got there! The StatusKeeper donation from Qantas got me close, then business flights got me even closer, but fittingly, and more appropriately, it was the 20Scs from the Qantas Wine offer that got me over the line.

I might just crack one of the bottles of bubbles ordered through Qantas Wines tonight to celebrate.

I thought QF would send me some sort of congratulatory email but no.

Now only need 60,900 status credit for LTP. Ahahahaha.

But in reality with LTG, no need to be loyal to QF anymore.
