Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Crossed the LTG line today with the 600SC boost. Taking my first flight tomorrow since January and will celebrate with a little bevy 👍

Welcome to the club and what a great way to achieve it with the help of QF :)

So yesterday QF713 CNS-BNE earnt me lifetime gold status - it took just over 19 years. As a fun fact, the 737 assigned, VXD was delivered a month before I joined the frequent flyer program which I thought was pretty cool!

2002 Bronze
2007 Silver
2008 Gold
2015 Lifetime Silver
2019 Platinum
2021 Lifetime Gold

And now I stop trying - I’ll never make it to LTP.

Well done!!! Even more useful when we can travel freely. :-(

Congratulations - and we could be twins. Your progress through the ranks is identical to mine, except I'm still 91 Credits short of LTG, which I hope I will wrap up this year too.

Congratulations @justinbrett and advance congratulations @kookaburra75. 95.9% down for me, 4.1% remaining (or 569 SC's). But I have a Double SC bonus at the moment, so trying to creep along whilst trying to maintain VA Plat.

Likewise I have 91 to go as well, here is hoping I can get to it if NZ happens in 2 weeks. sc.JPG

Congratulations and welcome to the club Justin.

I suspect the last 18 months might have been a slowdown for you and some others who are so close.

Congratulations Justin and welcome to the club!

I was a busy flier and it only took me 5 years to get LTG in 2012 but now that I fly less, it is so useful every time I fly QF (and hopefully OW partners once again).

Nice work! Now, like a lot of us, are you going to try other airlines? ;)

I won't bother with Virgin unless they join star or skyteam

I don't see myself gaining status with anyone else as my flying is at least 50% domestic. Don't really see the point of BA/AA when I've already got lifetime sapphire - but I'll certainly be more likely to fly with other oneworld airlines now I don't have to worry about the SC penalty Qantas imposed.

Meanwhile I'm stuck in no man's land! 15k TP (SC) with BA, but no benefit until I hit 35k (lifetime OWE) so just over half way with a couple of years of non-earning thanks to COVID. QF I think I left at about 5k SC and probably will sit there for a long time into the future. I do still have a Lifetime QP membership though, not that it's really worth much currently for me.
