Unfortunately, they can always interpret the word "lifetime" to mean something other than the member's mortality. The "lifetime" of the program may be somewhat less than the lifetime of the member.

My interpretation of lifetime isn't limited to merely the lifetime of the member, it's actually a bit more complex:

• For international travel including travel on partners like BA or AA: the lifetime of the member
• For domestic travel on QF/JQ: forever since they never do ID checks at QF lounges or elsewhere

Mine’s zero balance also but I didn’t get a new card back in Jul/Aug… I must check if it’s still active.

I reached LTG a few weeks ago and got an email a few days after the SCs credited. I’m Platinum at the moment so no updated physical card, as expected.

You can order a new card by going into the personal profile section.

Like introducing another status above Platinum One and pushing everyone down the chain?

It is entirely possible that we could be Lifetime Gold but have Silver benefits.

~10 years of flying, ~10% work travel mostly leisure funded and certainly a lot faster than I would have if it wasn’t for this awesome forum/all of y’all tips and tricks.

Congratulation! I also achieved LTS on December 6th.

The email made it sound all so wonderful and marvellous, but it doesn’t really give us much. More FF points earned when flying, mainly. I have never seen Silver on the priority check in sign, nor noticed before any extra luggage allowance? Maybe I haven’t looked for “Ruby”. Access to 600 international lounges? Yes, if flying J! Or have I just not noticed because I’ve been WP for some years and QP before that? Not that I’m complaining. I may well need LTS in the future.

Actually that's wrong for domestic.
i've had my ID checked a few times, they always ask for my partners ID.
A year or two pre-covid the law changed to make it illegal to travel under someone else's name (a name different to your ID).

If you are all electronic, you may never have your ID checked. When that started some NZ journalist used someone else's ID and was successful in boarding a plane. I cannot remember having my ID checked on DOM flights for may years

LTS is not to be sniffed at. Never having to join the whY checkin line flying OW ever again!

The Police wandering around the terminal can ask at any time. They can ask during boarding, they can ask when accessing the lounge.
The fact that you haven't personally been checked does not mean people are never checked. Lucky you, never being checked. Other people are checked, it's bad advice to pretend ID is never checked.

That and the fact you are ahead of the Bronze points collectors in the upgrade queue. A bit of work on picking flights with a good upgrade chance and I usually got them. I've managed to maintain gold for a while now. Still need 6000 SC's though, although more pressing is i'm only a J trip to NZ with a DSC offer away from Platinum for the first time. Need 455 SCs by July so i prob should try. I will definitely go somewhere before then.

From a domestic point of view, the airlines are fairly lenient on what constitutes ID. Mostly they are validating you have a ticket, rather than validating you are you. For Qantas

If you're travelling on a domestic flight within Australia (flights QF400 and above), you'll need to carry the following items with you:

• photo identification such as a driver's licence, passport or social security card; or
• your Qantas booking reference (printed on your e-ticket itinerary receipt); or
• your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership card, Qantas Club membership card; or
• the credit card used to purchase the ticket.
