Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Yes, but they have rescinded a lot of them.

So what is a lifetime?
Actually any Lifetime memberships that were sold are still valid. They've not been cancelled, i.e. rescinded.

Qantas stopped selling them.

I will have a (useless) lifetime credit with QF, as my paid club membership was suspended once I qualified through flights and achieved 'lifetime' G. Actually, it probably has been transferred to General Revenue on the books.

Same here - omg good luck trying to get that credit refunded - the “service centre” agents are beyond unhelpful and want signed stat declarations (not kidding!!!) about when and what I paid and more paperwork to try and get the unused portion refunded

I’ve almost given up but am considering another run at it just because of the challenge of the nigh impossible!

Plenty of reports here getting (limited) QP membership refunded pro rata once reaching LTG - did so a few years ago myself.

Haven't heard of anyone who bought LTQP getting a "pro rata" version refunded upon reaching LTG 😂

Mine is only QP membership - not LTQP
If anyone has had success and knows the magic password to make it happen I’m all ears

I have just asked if I can transfer the remaining membership to my brother, who is travelling to the US in a few weeks with his daughter on AA.

I figured this would be easier for them than give a cash refund. I've been gold since 2007 so it's been a minute.

Good luck because if they accept it could open some floodgates.

No magic password, I just contacted the P1 team and they forwarded the request to QFF.
I'm pretty sure there have been people lower than P1 who have emailed the FF team and got the pro rata refund.
They had to call to refund to a different credit card - my card account used to make the original purchase was since closed.
Did you email or call (or both) to action this request?

I’m in the process now – about a month after sending the stat dec, but haven’t heard back since I sent it on. I guess I should try call next week.

I'm an old fart and I sometimes think it will be Qantas's lifetime and not mine.
How long do you plan on living? I think we'll just about scrape through will full use of Lifetime Gold.

Actually scrap that thought. Enhancements could mean Gold may end up with the same benefits as Silver soon.
