I guess you are right not much point. I wonder if QF store them away still as maybe one day they might introduce say LTP??? They must retain them as you still need to qualify for WP each year but I guess do they retain your running tally or just your status year SC's.......

The monthly paper statements still record your life time status credits - well mine does

Are they free? Can you just sign up or are they no longer available?

You can charge your preferences to get paper statements. I did it once. But quickly switched back when I saw there was a fee for requesting a statement. I wasn't sure if that included having them posted out as normal practice.

Paperless statements was one of my big stuff ups. I took the 1000 points for switching but didn't switch back. So I'll be interested to know if anyone has switched back and if they get charged.

I couldn’t see anywhere to switch to paper statements, but found an option to show lifetime SC’s that I think would work for LTG’s, but doesn’t require QF to mail you anything.

Simply go to Your Activity Statement online, and click the button that says Print Your Activity Statement, and voila, you get a page that lists lifetime SC’s at the top, along with everything else.

No, that only gives you what you see on screen in a layout suitable for printing. It still doesn't tell you your lifetime SCs.

Leumas is correct.

The generated printable web page (for a LTG member) has the following:
...
Lifetime Recognition
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
You have attained lifetime Gold recognition.
This contrasts to the printed statement where it does give a total.

Ahh. Of course I wouldn’t have noticed that.

go to "your profile" and scroll to the bottom. That's where I can see it.

That section doesn’t appear for me ;) Only the SMS stuff.

I believe paper statements are complimentary for Platinum members. Not sure if Gold members still get them.

I hope it lasts as I really like the look of the paper statements....

Well I'm stumped because the area where I can change back to statements by post doesn't mention a fee. But the T&C say

Qantas FFP said:
10.1 Members may access account information without charge at Your Activity Statement at this website. Members may also request statements in hard copy form from the Frequent Flyer Service Centre, subject to clause 10.2.
10.2 A Statement Request Fee (see the Fee Schedule) will be charged when a Member requests an activity statement to be sent in paper form.

Statement Request Fee 2,500 Points per passenger

But then JohnK says paper statements are free for Platinums. I also think that a "Statement Request" would happen if I rang up and asked to be sent, say, the June statement. Hence the fee would apply. But if they just give me the option of receiving statements in the post, well that isn't really a request as such, more a specifcation of how they should communicate with me.

Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and hopefully I'll only lose one lot of 2500 points, if at all.

btw I think I've ahd that "post" option for a while

I'm SG and still have the option for paper statements. Perhaps it has to do with when you enrolled? I was originally on paper statements as I joined 15 years ago.

Possibly Golds are still included then. I remember a post/thread on AFF a while back where it mentioned that certain QFF members would no longer receive paper statements.

I think you might be right.. my brother is an old FF Member as well but only a NB and he can't get paper statements anymore.. and no option either

I’m a new NB and shall be Gold by the end of the year, if I remember this thread by then, I shall update it ;)

AFAIK Statements are free for all members (via paper).

The 2500 points comes if you ring and request one (as I did a few months ago, as I wanted history dating back several years to try and complete my flight log. They were going to charge me a 2500 point fee for me to 'request a statement', not get my regular one).

It's like the bank. Paper statements are normally provided free of charge, but if you request a previous statement, a fee often applies.

How far back did your statements go? It's a pity you can't access your full records online.

I wanted some from around 2003 and 2005, but they were going to send me everything from 2001 for the 2500 points. I haven't decided if the points are really worth it just for me to complete 20 or so missing flights from my log.

Can you pay a fee instead, like $30?

It was not offered to me as an option. I was trying to get them to waive the fee entirely so didn't ask about a cash option (and they were not budging on the waive).

I could call and ask I guess, but it's in the 'not worth it' basket at present.
