Unless it's business, all I can say is "Who needs it"?
To me it's a total waste of money just to be able to flash Gold or what ever, I fly with whom I like, my highest rating is silver with TG, and life QP came from a former life of work!!!!!

Cheers Dee:shock:

When you travel as much as many do here, it's an important thing, especially when things go pear shaped. And the more you travel, the more likely things are to do exactly that.

Try getting stuck in the middle of a foreign country with lost luggage and cancelled connections. Status makes all the difference, and having a lifetime status means that if you only decide to fly once a year, your years of loyalty are going to be rewarded making your travel a little easier.

Obviously if you are flying that often though, status makes sense. If you're not an excessively frequent flyer like some, it may not:)

As always, YMMV.

IME, paper statements are available (ie. free) for all status members PS and up. I am not sure of QP NB members.

In my ~3 years of flying I've gone from blank boarding pass nothing to NB for 12 months, then have slowly progressed up the ladder with QFF and am still going. As soon as I reached PS the activity statements section in 'your profile' appeared which allows for the paper option. Other NB accounts I have access to do not have this option.

I would also presume the T&C clause is in regards to requesting a prior statement be mailed to you.

Don't whether I would class my travel as business but commuting SYD-BNE the last couple of years has been stressful enough and status has made it a little easier. And that status comes in handy when flying overseas to Thailand 3-4 times a year.

I would hate to have to rely on TT, JQ or DJ for my commute.

I wanted some from around 2003 and 2005, but they were going to send me everything from 2001 for the 2500 points. I haven't decided if the points are really worth it just for me to complete 20 or so missing flights from my log.

Hmmm.. I think i found all my flights from 01-04 so probably not worth it to me..
