I got a dud deal, reload with at least $1000, yes $1000! and get only 5000 points ahhh no thanks, I would have done the $250 for 2500 points. but $1000 is too much, I guess they must have seen I have an upcoming International trip coming up so want me to reload a high amount.

Not having used Qantas cash before can I withdraw money from my cash card from an Australian ATM?

I got the same deal and also have a few bookings at the moment.

With almost 700SC's required for WP requal in just over a months time, they must not want me to requal for WP again... But little do they know I have 700SC's of travel split over QF & CX/KA/QR flights coming up over the next 30 days before requal. ;)

Well I suppose this is really the first targeted promo that has come my way from QFF. I can't say I know anything about how Qantas Loyalty works but as we know. It's a profitable business.

You can load $1000, spend a bit and then immediately withdraw the rest back to your bank account, or forego interest for a month or so before withdrawing, if you want to wait until the bonus points post.

You can withdraw from westpac/ stgeorge ATM for no fee

Also be careful if your status will change during your trip, as the card will get deactivated

I'd check what the T&C is on your offer. On the $250 offer is says load AND SPEND on eligible purchases. So you might not get the points if you withdrawal from ATM.

The uptake rate would be higher if the earn rate was better then the 0.5/$. Why would anyone bother for 0.5pts.

ATM withdrawals don't count as "eligible" spend.

I assumed it had something to do with CC companies already offering it at that level. Perhaps there's some form of non-compete clause. Besides, even if they increased it, CC companies would then likely increase what they offer and you'd again complain about that ;)

it is 1 point per $ on overseas purchases which is the main point of the card I think. This promo is to spend $250 in foreign currency

"To be eligible to receive the 2,500 bonus points you must be the recipient of this email, register by clicking the button in the body of the email, spend at least AU$250 or equivalent in foreign currency within 21 days of receiving this email. "

I read that as $250 in AUD OR other foreign currency withing the 21 days

You can spend the $250 in australia too! (had to re-read my email twice to make sure!) 1pt/$ overseas still less then my 1.25 CitiBusiness Gold. I <3 my CBG.

it must be in foreign currency according to the terms and conditions at the bottom of the email

maybe we there's 2 different offers

[h=1]2500 BONUS POINTS REGISTRATION COMPLETE[/h]Congratulations! You have successfully registered for the promotion. In order to receive 2,500 Qantas Points^ don’t forget to load and spend at least AU$250 or the equivalent in foreign currency within 21 days of receiving the email containing the offer.

its very clear on the registration page. once you register it says 'spend $250 in foreign currency'

This is what I'm getting:

To be eligible to receive the 2,500 bonus points you must have received an email from Qantas Frequent Flyer outlining the offer, register by clicking the button in the body of the email, spent a minimum AU$250 or equivalent in foreign currency within 21 days of receiving the email containing the offer.

It clearly says "OR" the equivalent

hmmm, I suppose you can read it that way. I read it as $250 or equivalent IN foreign currency with emphasis on IN rather than OR.

I'm going with AU$250 as the required spend and I will manage that within my day to day expenditure in the next few weeks.
