I'm going with AU$250 as the required spend and I will manage that within my day to day expenditure in the next few weeks.

I'm reading $250AUD, or the equivalent amount in another currency (eg $USD228 etc). I'd suggest everyone hangs on to their emails in case QF read it the other way and push for points if necessary.

hmmm, I suppose you can read it that way. I read it as $250 or equivalent IN foreign currency with emphasis on IN rather than OR.

My thinking is if they wanted you to spend AU$250 in foreign currency they'd word it "Spend the equivalent of AU$250 in foreign currency".

And no reward for those of us that took up the product right at the start :-|

And no reward for those that recently received the 1,000 point offer.

The are 4 Qantas cash card that will remain inactive.

Given you cant spend $250 in foreign currency, you can only spend the equivalent in foregign currency I personally think people are going a long way to get confused, for me this is worded very clearly.

As the promotion mentioned on everyday purchases like groceries then it was AUD $250.00 in any currency.

Of course the cost to spend in Forex outweighs the value of the additional 1/2c a point. Close to a 4% arbitrage on the USD this morning.

Do you mean 4% or 4 cents?

Spot on the 18th when I loaded A$100 in US$ was 0.9131 A$ to the US$. It exchanged at 0.8601. Right now I see spot at US$ 0.9140 and the Qantas Cash sell rates 0.8765.

CBA I see has current sell rate for cash 0.8727.

I don't think these offers are for reloads but rather for initial activation and load.

i have activated a long time ago but never loaded. So I think it is for people who activated the card but never used it

cmon0005 (post #14) seems to suggest otherwise, that's why I'm mentioning it :p

OK. Poor wording.

If you received this offer and loaded $250 and received 2,500 bonus points then I would not expect them to offer you next time 5,000 bonus points to load another $250 on the card.

So the bonus points would appear to be for loading the card first time. If not then they are giving away points for people to load and that would make no sense.

I thought he was being offered bonus points to reload $1000, not $250. It's a fair bit more, especially if you have to spend the $1000. That said, I've probably done that a few times over now, so they don't see the point in enticing me. Just annoying is all :p

I can confirm my wife who is SG, also on the same upcoming qf intl booking as me got the $1000/5000pts offer yesterday morning. So it may seem the $1000 offer is triggered by intl bookings or something like that.

This is also my situation. I realized yesterday that I had indeed activated my card ages ago, but never bothered loading any funds on it.

Im with you..... i have stopped using it..... that is unless they dangle a carrot to make the points earn more attractive.

A similar (not the same I don't think) competition is running for all. http://www.qantascash.com/newyork?e...o:tile&int_cam=ff:promo:QantasCashNYC:lang:en You register for a chance to win a trip, and if you spend AU $250 or equivalent in foreign currency during the Promotion Period then you'll receive a bonus 2500 points. Seems worth it. Promotion period is 4th - 27th April 2014.

and I love the way they worded it with brackets this time, meaning it can not be misinterpreted:

"if you spend over AU $250 (or equivalent in foreign currency) "
