I just received this offer, even though I signed up ages ago. I guess they are really trying to incent people to use the card on a more regular basis. I might use it extremely regularly for the first $250 spend.

I received the offer today. Activated and BPayed $300.00. Now what should I pack for New York.

I received this promo today along with the NY competition. I've finally decided to activate as I have something to buy, that with the 2500 bonus points and the normal earn will net me just under 10 pts/$. Won't be using it again though and this purchase is domestic so no stuffing around with exchange rates and fees.

Just registered for the second promo. Now just need to load another $250.

Your second promotion on the card?

Hindsight says I should have taken the 4 activation bonuses when they were offered as that did not require any spend.

Yes. At a little over 10 points per $, I'm happy to use the card and forgo my cc points.

Paid for a repair on my Macbook Pro at the Apple store today... in the many hundreds... have easily met the target.

well its pretty good that I need to purchase a couple of flights in about 4 days so just waiting for the funds to go through bpay and then receive just over 5000 QFP yiew

I can confirm my wife who is SG, also on the same upcoming qf intl booking as me got the $1000/5000pts offer yesterday morning. So it may seem the $1000 offer is triggered by intl bookings or something like that.

Don't think that's it. My wife (SG) and I both got the offer for $250/2500 points. She hadn't activated her card or loaded it previously. I had my activated and used my card o/s last year. We are both travelling overseas next week. I have loaded up her card so we each get the 2500 points.

This is another ill conceived Qantas initiative. It is just another debit card. Why would I give my hard earned cash to Qantas when I can use ATM world wide or can get a debit card loaded with foreign currency from Australia Post.

I want FF points for flying wiith QF not providing them with a loan. It's an airline not a bank. No added value here.

1) Lock in a currency rate
2) earn 1pt per dollar on overseas spend
3) No foreign exchange fees or ATM fees (over and above what they make on the exchange rate at time of loading) That is not to say the foreign bank won't charge an ATM fee, they won't charge on top of that.

Not trying to sell you on it BTW. If it doesn't suit you don't use it. I mainly use a Bankwest credit card that has no FX fees and gives me 1 pt per $ overseas as well , but this is useful for cash withdrawals and quarantining my spending money from my general expenditure. YMMV.

My wife sent offer to activate
She is a PR and not on electoral role and no Aussie Passport

Tried to activate with license and Medicare card - cannot use both - she has given up!

The reason for this is that Qantas Cash cannot verify your residential address except by the phone book or electoral roll. My wife was in the same boat in that we are silent electors and not on the roll and the landline is in my name.

All you need to do in that circumstance is download a form from the website and take it and your ID (Driver's Licence is fine) to the Post office who will sight your ID and scan the barcode on the form. Within 24 hours you will receive an email advising you have been activated.

Apologies but cannot locate form - could you please maybe add url?

At the loyalty lunch today it was clarified and confirmed that domestic spend of $250 counted. It doesn't have to be foreign. Just incase anyone still wonders.

Didn't really have any doubt, but thanks for the confirmation. :)

No I can't as your application will generate a unique barcode and I've already activated my card, so I don't get the activation screen come up anymore. Go through the activation process on line and enter your licence details. You may need to enter a phone book or electoral roll entry which will be rejected. On this screen there will be some link that leads to the downloadable form. Any problems locating it, give Qantas Cash a call and they should be able to step you through it.
