We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Looking for a bit of help please - we're flying Melbourne to London via Dubai in a couple of weeks on QF9. I'm SG and QP member but my wife and two children (aged 3 & 1) are all NB.

Looking at the lounge eligibility guide on the QF site it says all children are counted as guests in Emirates lounges. Does that mean I won't be able to take the family into the lounge in Dubai? If so that will be a nightmare - has anyone else tried to get access in a similar situation and what are the chances of them being lenient and letting us all in? We're flying Premium Economy which I suppose won't help us particularly.

I'm contemplating a suites booking on my way to SGN.

Itinerary would be:

• SQ F SYD-SIN
• 2-3hr layover
• VN or JQ Y SIN-SGN

Questions:

1. Would my F ticket permit me access on arrival to Singapore's First Class lounge, or any lounge for that matter?
2. Would SQ check my luggage all the way through to SGN when i check in at SYD? If not, is there anyway to avoid going landside to collect luggage/recheck in etc?

I have a feeling your SQ F ticket allows TPR access on arrival but Cruiser Elite is the SQ guru with regard to rules and regs . As for the second question I'm nor sure there is an interlining deal but someone more qualified than me may give you more info

Hi, I am hoping to get some guidance on how strict the CX and QF HKG lounges are with guests.

I'm travelling with my parents on KA (on a CX codeshare) in December, but as QF Gold (maybe Plat by the time of the flight) I can only guest one of them in. What are my chances of getting them both admitted? I'm really hoping to get them into the CX F lounge if I can...

My dad is lifetime QF club so my "backup" plan is going to the QF lounge - although I don't think that would get him admitted there either (since he isn't on a QF/JQ ticket).

As you arrive on a F ticket, I am afraid you won't be able to use the TPR or even the Silverkris Lounge in SIN.

It is for those with an outbound (not inbound) ticket.

TPR is reserved for SQ R or F outbound passengers - not *A F pax.

You can try and report back to us the responses.

Does anyone know if the single lounge passes by being VA silver and be used to guest someone in or be utilised together (me + 1)? I have two passes but I'm about to trip over to SG so I was wondering if I could use them?

Edit: Found it in the T&Cs.

k) You cannot transfer Single Entries to other people (for example, to other Velocity Members) but you can use your Single Entries to enable other people (who are travelling with you) to gain access to the lounge.

Yes, you can use both passes at once to gain access for yourself and your +1.

Do you know much about the admirals club 30 day pass. Apparently it gives you access to Qantas lounges but I cant find a clear cut answer to this anywhere.

The following exceptions apply:

1. American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling customers to pay to gain access to their lounges. These programmes are not part of the oneworld agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to access lounges under the oneworld agreement.

I take this to mean that AC 30 day pass cannot enter QC. QC members can only enter QC lounge and not any other lounge including admirals club

You will be fine IMHO. EK are generally very accommodating with children. I would ignore the info on the website in this case, especially with a couple of toddlers.
I have guested in my primary school aged children to the F lounge at DXB and there are numerous examples both here and on FT of similar child friendly access. I haven't come across many (?any) reports of kids/infants being denied access.

That is incorrect.

AAdmirals Club and Qantas Club memberships have reciprocal arrangements allowing full access to both their club networks provided you are flying AA or QF. Additionally, QC members can enter the lounge before a JQ (and affiliate) flight.

The clause you quote is relevant to oneworld lounges outside AA/QF. Ie those operated by BA, AY, S7, JL etc etc

Can I confirm that the Qantas Club complimentary passes, if used at an international Qantas Business lounge, allow for unlimited children up to 18 years of age? Is 18 the limit? Ideally I would provide two friends with a card each (two passes in total) and they would take their three children, 17, 14 and 10. Doable?

I redeemed 5 Classic Award seats on the QF website for Jetstar Starclass, the fare type says Business.

Am I right in assuming that this does not give us access to the J Lounge as it's not a Business Max fare?

And, how can we gain access to the lounge?

All NB, no QP membership.

I don't think so, no. If I've read the Qantas site correctly two children up to 18 years of age are not counted as guests.

Unfortunately I think you're right - you needed the max fare. Not sure if you can add this now, how much that would be, and whether it's even worth it.

Alaska Airlines only has its own dedicated lounges in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Anchorage. Unless there has been a change, this thread (post #4) suggests QF elites will have access when flying AS: http://www.australianfrequentflyer..../access-alaskan-airline-board-room-43427.html

Hi hi just as an update to this we arrived in Dubai pretty exhausted and looking forward to a refreshing break in the lounge. However we were flatly denied access on the basis that the two children did count as additional guests. We spoke with a supervisor who refused to be flexible and stated that since all QF guests are charged back to the airline, we would need prior written dispensation from Qantas that they were prepared for the kids to be let in. Of course there was a simple way he could have bent the rules and just not scanned their boarding passes but he obviously wasn't interested in that.

Very annoying but in the end irrelevant since the transit time was so short we boarded pretty much immediately. None the less it would have been more important if there was some sort of delay. I spoke with QF customer service in London and they basically shrugged their shoulders and said the EK guy was lying and that it's not up to QF to provide access to that lounge.
